  1. Not of the StanceWorks variety but on my boggo 2.5 zetec. Had the car aligned on a Hunter machine (at a Formula 1 Autocentre). Weird thing is that the right-rear has a camber of -3.07 deg. The left side is only 0.3 deg. I coincidentally had the car up on the same Hunter machine about a year ago and it reported the same wheel was at -1.5 deg, so I guess whatever is wrong is getting worse. Is it anything to worry about? Any ideas on the cause? Only thing I've noticed is a bit of low speed knocking, but I assumed that was from the rear ARB bushings/drop link bushings wearing out.
  2. yeah, seems that way. i think it's as i said before, the gauge can't be relied on for accurate temperature readings - just that it's not overheating or totally cold. poor show on ford's part but at least we know it's 'normal'
  3. i'm no expert ( ) but is it not likely that a seal/something has failed if it's lost all its charge over night?
  4. ok, ta! Weird though, my old man's focus don't do it. Wondered if it meant the pollen filter needed changing or something.
  5. Noticing more and more that I get a breeze from the vents even with the fan switched to zero. Any ideas? It's a mk2.5 car if that makes any difference.
  6. aw balls i reckon i've got the same problem then. Wonder if it's DIY'able as I'm out of warranty Cheers for the info.
  7. how come it was displaying correctly in your software then? what caused you to start looking at this? did iyou have other symptoms?
  8. what i'm getting at is that the dial is possibly not accurately showing the actual temperature, but rather is saying "everything's okay - i'm in the expected working range"
  9. Mine moves in about 6 distinct steps. It reaches the centre point when I'm still getting warm air (not hot) from the blowers. Is the temperature you're monitoring with the software definitely the correct one? That gauge shows water temp doesn't it? Bear in mind as well that there is no air flow / water circ when the engine is off.
  10. Are you saying that after going for a drive then leaving it for 2 hours it still shows up at 90 degrees (or whatever the centre mark is) i've got a 1.8 petrol mk2.5 and that seems pretty normal. Maybe mine is also broken?
  11. Have you tried adjusting the height with tge leverv at the side of the chair?
  12. Sorry, didn't mean to worry you. Mines a 2009 car, and only 30k miles. Unless it's stalling, it's just the normal hunting behaviour and you don't have to worry. 8) No offence at all meant to you Daz, but the 2002 was a completely different engine wasn't it? I don't think the duratec HE 1.8 actually has a seperate ICV does it?
  13. Mine did this very badly to the point where it would nearly stall. Took a look inside the throttle body to check it was all working okay, and found it very dirty inside with black oil or grease. (Why and where from?) Having cleaned it, it's stopped nearly stalling, still hunts a bit coasting in neutral though. It's also stopped it juddering so much at very low revs. I reckon the gunk was preventing the throttle closing completely or confusing the position sensor.
  14. Does the noise go away when you turn the screen heater off? Anyway, have a listen around the accessory belt. Mine had a bearing or pulley or something fail at only 2 years old causing quite an annoying ticking noise on cold starts. Had it done under warranty.
  15. Yeah, this shape is growing on me, didn't think i'd ever be saying that  Been thinking about it a lot, but it's just so hard to justify the £20k price tag, compared to what you can get second hand these days (e.g. a Focus RS mk2 or 2xE46 M3 )
  16. It takes my car about 10 miles to get fully warmed up and give decent MPG. You should cycle into work! :D
  17. The Mk 2 1.8 throttle is electronically controlled as opposed to cable controlled. My car is the same sometimes. Yes, perhaps I used the wrong term? I meant wire as in electronic wire, as opposed to cable (physically opening the throttle)
  18. Laggy throttle = normal (unfortunately - seems to be drive by wire related) Odd low idle sometimes = same here - apparently no faults - hasn't done this since my last service My car has no power at 2000rpm, it only really gets going at about 3.8k, seems to tail off about 5500 but still pulls reasonably well up to 6 - 6.5. Have you tried giving it an Italian tune up? BTW in this colder weather, my MPG avg has dropped to 34 ish.
  19. I bet there is nothing wrong at all. I regularly see 7mpg, 6 mpg even under hard acceleration (58 plate, 1.8 engine). My average is 36.9 and over a long journey I'll often see 42+. Best is 44. I think a lot of it is down to technique, e.g. if you know you're going to stop at a junction, ease off and coast (in gear) for the last bit and leave a big gap from the car in front so you don't have to keep dabbing the brakes.
  20. i think it'll be a good eco/performance balance for a daily driver. No doubt 250 odd HP would be better but not sure my wallet can take any more abuse
  21. Review in Evo this month: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarr ... tec_s.html Reckon it'd look a lot better in performance blue or panther black
  22. shame it doesn't have the other windows heated, especially the drivers side ones as that'd be good for blindspot checks
  23. I've started seeing a few about. I have to say that in grey, white or black they actually don't look too bad. Horrible in that 'dog-poo yellow' or 'auntie Flo red' though. Still seems over priced though, more expensive than a 116d Sport IIRC.
