  1. Errr i think the two way power adjustment is just up and down although I am not 100% (certainly used to be). Lumber support adjustment is provided as part of this pack but only manual adjustment but on both drivers and passenger seat.
  2. The perimeter alarm is standard on all Zetec and Zetec climate focus'. You can opt to have this upgraded to the Category 1 thatcham approved system with interior volumetric sensors.
  3. I have been looking at the seals again and wonder if it is definitely caused by the rubber creaking against the paintwork or if it could be the rubber creaking aginst rubber? If you look at the door at the very top edge of the door there is a rubber strip which is flocked where it makes contact with the chassis but then rubber further down. When the door is shut the main seal (that runs around the complete door) is squeezed against this and I wonder if it is this compression that is causing the problems? I may try finding a strip of cloth if I can find the time that will fit in between these
  4. Aye freshly waxed car/door frames does seem to work for a bit.....although dry weather soon gets em creaking again. I also think that the 3dr cars suffer from this a little worse than the 5dr as there is a little more door to flex....or not as the case may be.
  5. This is really weird as my voice control crashed today (I think it may have been me being impatient ;)). Instead of removing fuse 58 I thought I'd try TT's suggestion of 83 as this would not do any harm and also save me entering my pin and personal settings again if it did work.....Guess what it did work !! So it seems that fuse 83 powers the voice control / bluetooth module, external under seat CD Autochanger and any Ford phone cradle kit (if fitted).
  6. Aye that is when the chassis flexes the most. Normal motorway or fast road driving should be fine but 30 or below and the chassis flexes quite a bit. I really can't see how they are going to resolve this unless they find the precise cause of the creak but then we will have to wait for the re-design.
  7. errr I am not sure if lithium grease is the right stuff for your door seals as it remains wet so any clothing that touches it will gain a nice coating. Better off using a can of dry lube (which is silicone based) although this is a very temporary fix.
  8. I have the same issue whereby the drivers door creaks and the passenger door does not. I suppose it could be down to the fact that the drivers door is used more and eventually the passenger door will do the same.....or it could be the passenger door is closed tighter preventing the flexing which causes the creaking? Either way good luck and I hope they manage to find a solution without palming you off with a lithium/silicon grease temporary fix.
  9. My panel gaps are fine although as it is a Ford I was not expecting them to be anywhere near Audi/BMW standards. Re the lithium grease.....that is such a cop out. To be honest though I am wondering if we will ever get an official Ford fix as I think it may be a bit of a design flaw.
  10. Well we have some nice weather and my drivers side door seal is creaking badly again. Went out with the dry lube tonight but this has not resolved the creaking at all. I am not 100% sure that the creaking is coming from the very top seal any more and am beginning to wonder if it is actually the rubber making contact rubber of the other seal or itself. The two main door seals are hollow with holes drilled every few cm for air circulation when they are compressed. I wonder if the creaking is coming from the inside of these seals as they are squashed the inner walls rub against each other and
  11. When I collected my ST I asked for this feature to be enabled and the dealer connected up the computer but there was no obvious setting for the autolocking feature. He checked a few sub menus too but still no joy. He then got onto the local Ford technical representative and it was him that confirmed that this feature was not available on UK spec cars. If someone can confirm otherwise (as in they have done it) then if you could provide the specific settings then that would be great. Alternatively a copy of this PDA software may be useful ;)
  12. I have checked my seals and they look exactly the same so although they may have replaced them it does not look like the design has changed. Having looked at mine again it is not those seals that are causing the creaking, it is the one on the very top of each door with the flocked backing. When the door is closed (and standing on the outside) push the top edge of the door in and you will hear the creaking.
  13. Can you confirm how they enabled it? If you can provide this info then we may be able to do this in the UK?
  14. Should be covered by the corrosion warranty. Head to your dealers and they should sort it out for you.
  15. Well my seals were dry lubed last Saturday and they are just starting to creak again (albeit much less than before)......and it is hot today. I am now wonding if this is just a design flaw that we will have to live with ? The only way they are going to fix this is to completely redesign that top seal (with the flocked back that is supposed to prevent creaking against the paintwork. I wonder if they will ever get this sorted though? Gonna carry on using the dry lub until they do though as no creaks is much better than the creaks.
  16. hehehe i feel your pain too. Mine is already dirty again and needing another wash....grrr. Having said that it will rain this weekend so that is like a wash ;)
  17. If I am completely honest I would not buy a Focus with an automatic. I have only driven one mk2 with auto as a hire car and hated it. I just don't think that auto's in small cars really work although the VW DSG (which is not really an automatic.....it is an electronically controlled manual) is an exception. Unless your licence / physical needs require an auto then stick to a manual.
  18. Re the seats you cannot have 6way electric seats on the 3dr because the seats need to tilt and slide forward to allow access to the rear seats and this cannot be electric for safety reasons. As such only manually adjustable seats can be spec'd. The 2way power adjustment is probably height of seat only as this does not need to change when gaining access to rear seats. Re the configurator concerns, the online specifications and configurator do have errors and as such Ford have a disclaimer for both. tbh the website is only to give you an indication of prices rather than hard facts and besides
  19. Even when dialling out? Receives calls ok but when dialling out using the voice control or satnav system it takes a while for the handsfree bit to take over from the phone which has already connected.
  20. The Keyfree system does not have a start button. Instead there is a fake key type setup in the ignition and you turn this as you would a normal key. The follow me home lights operate by pulling the indicator stalk forward after you have switched off the ignition. The lights stay on for 30secs or so. It is not possible to trigger this from the remote. The premium bluetooth is just a preparation kit. You have to buy the cradle specific for your phone from your dealer (unless they will chuck it in for free). You can also attach other phones using Bluetooth, although not at the same time. You
  21. Aye my Sony Ericsson displays a headset iconand enables the portable hands free profile automatically. I have also tried a Nokia 6230 and this worked perfectly too......just a shame I don't like Nokia phones.....grrrr. Am hopefully going to try a SE K750i at lunch time to see what that does.
  22. Silver Beast, I went down the temporary solution route (although not sure how temporary yet). At the weekend I applied some dry lube to all my seals (particularly the tops of the doors which make contact with door and chassis). This has completely resolved the problem and I will post up again when it stops working. Certainly did not need that much as I sprayed 2cm square cloth to apply ths stuff rather than spraying directly on the seals. This is the stuff I used (£4.99 from local motor factor - not Halfords as they don't sell it). http://www.wynns.uk.com/contextra/documents/Dry Lube.p
  23. Sorry to stir up an old thread but this one seems most relevant. I understand that the Advanced/Premium BT kit fitted by Ford is made by Nokia and as such Nokia phones seem to work seamlessly with this system. I prefer Sony Ericsson phones and have a K700i (with latest firmware). Now the Bluetooth on this is a bit flakey but when working it connects to the denso satnav system on start up and seems to work fine if someone phones me. The problem I have is only apparent when trying to make a call. Regardless of whether I dial using the phone, satNav or voice control, although the call conne
