Hi my dealer has tried enabling this feature but cannot find it using the diagnostic machine. Does anyone know exactly what the setting is or the proceedure? Cheers

Updated main post as have now collected my ST: 1) Footwell lights are now included with bulbs - initial builds just had the holders 2) Vanity mirror lights are now suppled 3) Rear seat lights are now provided on both 3 and 5dr 4) Two flip keys are provided as standard and no manual key 5) Chilled glove box is not an option on the ST and certainly not standard.

Off to collect my ST tomorrow and got the dreaded phone call from the dealers, to let me know that whilst they were enabling the anti-hijacking auto-locking doors feature they noticed that my DVD SatNav came with the wrong disc (it was a CD instead of a DVD !!). The ordered one immediately and should only take 3-5days but they said that there was a supply problem with these discs. Anyone else had any similar probs? Anyone interested in the auto locking doors, this is a CPU setting requiring the connection of their diagnostics tool. It only takes seconds to do so your dealer should do this fo

My car was taxed on Friday with an April disc. I have so far only paid a £500 deposit and the rest is not due until I am 100% happy with the car.

Aye the dealer is talking tripe. It is not a Ford policy. My car was registered yesterday and I will not be paying for it until I have seen it in the flesh and made sure there are no defects.....only then will they get my cash. Tell the dealer that you will not be handing over the cash until you have inspected it. Makes me think they know something is wrong with it so are trying to get your cash now rather than giving you the chance of rejecting it on the day........

Quick question - The main roof lights in the Focus have a theatre style dimming. Do the footwell lights also dim in this way or are they on/off. If they dim, will LED's be compatible with this function?

I was a bit miffed at this as there is definitely room on the dash for this larger display and it is such a great feature on our A4. Do you know what the Ford display does on std Focus? I guess it just repeats the radio/CD and navigation information? I should be collecting my ST next week and am definitely not expecting to see it either. @scook2003 When was your Focus ST built? I know all ST's built before January did not come with vanity mirror lights and not sure if mine will have them. It could be just an ST3 thing now or dunnerak has just been lucky. If mine has them then I will update

Oh and when you collect your ST3, check that the DVD disk is the new 2006 version !!!! If it is not get them to replace this for free.

MMm so does this mean that people are now getting vanity mirror lights as standard? or is it part of one of the other packs they have fitted? Perhaps this is an ST3 only feature. If anyone else gets their car with vanity mirror lights, please post up here.

If you don't fancy LED's then standard 501 (wedge) bulbs are the ones you will need.

These windscreens are easy to fit as Autoglass do it all the time. In fact the dealer will probably get a company like this to come in and do any windscreen replacement for them. Rather than bodge it I would definitely get them to fix this properly....regardless of how petty the problem.

I have ordered mine with the DVD SatNav and due to be ready in a couple of weeks. If you want it then I say go for it. Hopefully by the time yours arrives, the CD Autochanger will be a definite. I am taking mine over to Connects2 to enable them to test their new cable on my satnav system to ensure it works. I just need to find a way of fitting the Sony CDX-T69 under the standard recaro passenger seat....if it is at all possible.

Lol dealers/ford are rubbish !!! Yes the DVD SatNav does play MP3's but unlike other Focus' it does not come with the 6 disc CD autochanger fitted under the front passenger seat.

I am picking up my car in a couple of weeks. I will let you know if it comes with a 2006 disc. If it doesn't I will be asking !!

I think one or two have but they are certainly in the minority. Apparently Ford are giving priority to Ford Dealer orders over these fleet internet buyers.

Does this only happen at home? Does it work ok elsewhere? If this is the case then check your household electrical appliance (specifically any video senders, wireless phones, and the like). Switch em off one at a time and see if you still get the problem?

Or could be the aircon.

Definitely the turbo.....All turbo's do it although on some cars you can't always hear it. Personally I think it gives the ST that bit more character. I used to love it when I heard it on my old BMW 3series diesel :shock: and miss it on our A4 TDi. ST whistle will do me fine ;)

There are loads of ST06 plates on the DVLA website for around £499

Can anyone confirm if the Ford/Sony MP3 headunit is compatible with the new 99min cd-r discs? Just wondering as the standard 800minute discs will store 700mb but these 99min discs will store a more useful 900mb.....apparently. http://www.dvdshoponline.co.uk/90_Min_CD-R_Media.html

Anti-Submarining - Is the extra protection which helps prevents front occupants sliding forward under the seat belts in a frontal accident. Tipping - On three doors the only way for passengers to get to the rear seats is to pull a leaver and the seats tip forward. Unlike older cars which entirely tipped, new cars tend to only release the back rest and the base just slides (thus loosing your setting.....doh). Both seats get both regardless of whether you stick with the standard seats, plump for Recaro 1 or go for leather.
