Awaiting my new C-Max - out with the Picasso
reddhedd_uk replied to tps58's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
well my ford is certainly better than the Astra i owned. All ive had go wrong with the C-max is the EGR valve. I had my Astra in dealers approx 20 times in the year that i owned it. -
dont be so pessimistic. Good for you! I hope the dealer fixes it quickly as its the customer service people experience that dictates what they then think of the c-max I had mine repaired and am still enjoying it. Nicola 53 plate 2.0TDCI

I had an astra 1.6 'sport'! Must say the C-max is miles better. I had nothing but trouble in the astra from day i bought it til i sold it 12 months later! It would cut out completely at 70mph and i later found that previous owner had had new engine at 5000 miles. I much prefer the C-max

and some of us girls too!

Im pleased with my 53 plate 2.0TDCI even thought its had a few small faults. In all they are a good car for their group. I wish i hadnt changed from a 2 seater sports but needed a family car and the C-Max is perfect. The benefits of a board like this is that people can compare problems, customer service, dealers and if you do have a problem at any point with your new C-Max you can check on here, find out if its a known fault and get it sorted asap. I love seeing my guy in a nappy, mind you he is only 7 months old! As for the knob pictures, i always reckon that the owners have been buffing them up too much
-
I certainly would and mines a Feb 04 53 plate with a few niggles too. But its serving its purpose as a family car well and also has better mpg than any car Ive previously owned apart from a Fiat Panda 900cc :)

My Partner and I saw a nice VW the other day (hes been looking at boras for ages) so he got me to go round back of car to see what it was, as he didnt recognise it. It was a Jetta! 'blimey, its a polo with a boot' he said. 'shame, cos i quite like it' -

As per a lot of dealers, they dont want to point out that car will need servicing sooner than you think. Just like they dont like to service if its only been done couple of months before you buy it. I certainly hadnt heard of anything like this anniversary interval before tho. -
Getting Ford to Deal with the Poor MPG Issue
reddhedd_uk replied to topgazza's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Thats not true for mine. Mine gradually increased from 47 at start of my journey to 51mpg 60 miles later and driving into a driveway in 2nd gear. It didnt drop at any time. Im assuming there must be different settings for displaying average and real time mpg. -

I was right, Garage hadnt serviced it last April. Well they didnt stamp book to say they had anyway so they were right first time and not when they backtracked and said theyd done it in April Luckily for me the car was done on the 4/2/05 by the previous owner. So Im already over my 12 month period and have unknowingly invalidated the warranty. Naughty me!!! -

Thanks Mastertech. Shall get it done next week then but certainly not at that garage. They lied from the start by saying i had to service at every 8000 miles anyway, regardless of what they say now. Just got to check service book now to make sure they really did do 1st service. -

so by doing the 1st service in April 05 they have already invalidated it? I certainly wont be going to them for any services now. Luckily garage nearest to me did the EGR valve. -

To say im a bit annoyed is understatement. Heres what dealer (that i bought car from) has just told me when i asked them about servicing. The wrote to me to say that its due a service now. Ive only done 9000 since i bought it I bought car with 9000 miles on clock last June. Car was first registered in Feb 04. Service department have just said that a) car must be serviced every 12,500 miles or yearly. Ok thats fair enough b) first they stated they hadnt serviced it before i bought it, then after i flipped said 'oh yeah it was done in April 05.' c) car must have service on anniversary of

1.6 TDCI C-MAX COMPARED to 2.0 TDCI C-MAX
reddhedd_uk replied to reddersTDDI's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Yeah, mine has slept right through since 2 weeks old. But suffering with cold at the mo so hes keeping me up. Whoops gone off topic again, sorry Redders. Hope baby lets you get some decent sleep soon. -
Got a letter from the garage i bought car from saying my car due for service yesterday (great timing) Seeing as the car had 9000 miles on clock (they said serviced at 8500) when bought and ive only had it 8 months, it looks like they are trying to convince me that its due service every 8000 miles. Will call them later, out of interest, and see.

If youre nice to him Mastertech may even look it up for you. As for newborn, is bubs in own room or is it your snoring waking it up?? :) -
Just called 2 dealers for costs on 2nd service. 1st were Busseys in Norfolk and they quoted £159 as its just a standard service, same as first. 2nd were EMG of suffolk and they quoted £184.65 but seemed to imply that it was a more involved service than first. Oh and Busseys confirmed 12,500 miles between service.

Anyones dealer called them ref EGR?
reddhedd_uk replied to andytran's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
My EGR was replaced at 16000 miles with the old type. If this replacement breaks in another 16000 miles whatll my chances be of getting work done if its out of 3 year warranty? I wonder if i can get it changed to a new design now and save the hassle later?
