What mk2 model do you own ?
Warwickshire Lad replied to Warwickshire Lad's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Interesting results guys, and a lot of votes cast. Zetec Climate and Titanium most popular now. I nearly bought a ZC when I first went round looking for the mk2, loved those dark headlights - but as I did research I felt more and more drawn to the Titanium since I like the gadgets and in particular the Sony head unit. Also hardly surprising no-one's got a Studio - why did Ford bother ! -
All TSW wheels available for the Focus MK2
Warwickshire Lad replied to a topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
A few of those look good. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how much extra people are paying on their insurance premium to have wheels like this. -
new focus sport and titanium
Warwickshire Lad replied to telboy's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Actually a Titanium will "only" get you part-leather seats as standard - full leather is an optional extra. -

Very interesting - at this early stage the Titanium is the clear favourite. But keep those votes coming ! -
Won't a badgless grille make your car look a bit ... well ... naked ? :?

Well, the new Focus has been out for getting on 18 months now, so just thought I'd do a survey to see amongst mk2 owners to see what models people are actually driving out there. Remember - strictly mk2 owners only please - and this is what you actually drive and NOT what you aspire/want ! :D

My Focus: MkII Titanium 1.8TDCi 04/2006
Warwickshire Lad replied to wasco's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
It's the alloys that make it, I think. Nice. Would have made Henry T. a bit proud of he was alive today. :D -
Horrible.

The 2005/2006 Focus printed brochure quite clearly says that "Cruise Control is not available on Titanium". I think that Ford's website is wrong, if it says otherwise.

Just fitted sat nav to my dash above gearstick
Warwickshire Lad replied to TMD's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
I've got a Navman 510 and I tend to find that the spoken directions lie, like the correct roundabout exit. I was driving through Birmingham a few weeks ago and it actually sent me into a bus station. Also if you take a wrong route it takes too long to recalculate a new route when you're in an urban area. In the past it has also tried to send me down undriveable dirt tracks. It's crap and I'm probably going to get one of the new TomTom models when they release them next month. You can also buy a permanent docking kit to integrate to the car, which is what I will do. That's a -
I see no technical reason why cruise control is not an option on the Titanium, it seems simply down to the matter of Ford's opinion of how many spokes does a steering wheel have to constitute it looking sporty or not ? Ford therefore must think that 4 spokes isn't sporty whilst 3 is. Um, yeah right .... If the brief was to make the Titanium a "sporty" car then I don't really see how they've actually achieved that, personally. Sure it's got a lot of lovely extras :) but is it really sporty ? There is already a car in the range called a Sport - which doesn't actually have "sports suspens

No cruise control on Titaniums it's not fair !! I mean, at least you can buy a Ghia and spec it up the Sony system, leather seats, better alloys and the other things that a Titanium has. I suppose that would give you the ultimate factory spec. I suppose you can get aftermarket cruise control systems, but are they as good ? Anyone done this ?

Well.... after pondering it for a while I think I might not go for the kit. :( It's a fair bit of money which I could probably justify spending on something else, such as a really good holiday. I'm knackered ! My car still looks good without it though. I reckon that, if in a few years I'm still happy with the Focus I might even order a brand new one with the kit on and such... but it depends on quite a few things. Here's how it looks at the moment (just standard)... :D

My Focus Needs a New Windscreen

Several hundred if I recall... although of course I only paid the excess. -
My Focus Needs a New Windscreen
Warwickshire Lad replied to Silver Beast's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Yes, the exact same thing happened to me. Autoglass brought out the correct windscreen for my mk2 Focus and fitted it fine. It was virtually identical to the Ford-factory fit screen, and the fitter unplugged/plugged in the heating elements etc. -
Rattles, squeaks and creaks
Warwickshire Lad replied to Warwickshire Lad's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Well, it's not that they didn't promise to fix it - they would have done, it's just that the attitude came from them that it sort of wasn't worth their while - and you know when people think you're being anally retentive. Fact was, these noises were driving me up the wall. It's stupid because the cost of mechanics should be paid directly under the Ford warranty, which my car had been under the first full year of. That's how I understand it anyway. Anyway, it's in the past now. Just glad I was able to get the car exchanged under Ford Direct. Hats off to Ford Customer Services they r -
Rattles, squeaks and creaks
Warwickshire Lad replied to Warwickshire Lad's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
That particular rattle was at all speeds really. I do not actually know what it was, I'm afraid, they didn't tell me exactly - only that it was underneath the seat. I've since exchanged that car for another and I'm pleased to say it has none of the noises the other one did. I must have been unlucky enough to have had a duffer. -
Do you mean a FFOC discount ? I'm not actually a member of the FFOC yet... If anyone could advise me whether I could get a discount through FFOC though, then sign me up !

Right - I have just had my quote for labour cost etc, and I'm looking at about £1,000 inc. VAT + the cost of the kit, that brings the total to about £1600... Then add on new alloys + tyres then you're looking at another £500+. Total cost: over £2000
-
Here is the breakdown of prices I was quoted (all including VAT) :- Front Bumper: £199.57 Rear Bumper: £137.16 Rear Spoiler: £129.38 Side Skirt: £152.74 Add on your alloy wheels of choice (I will go for 17" as I was advised the 18" need a steering rack limiter). Will get some more information tomorrow about labour cost etc.

Yes, I paid Evans Halshaw in Leicester a visit on Saturday and showed them the brochure, and they said they could fit it. :D He gave some prices for the individual parts + a set of alloys I liked and I think it came to about £1200. Haven't got a labour cost yet. It certainly does look like the Focus CC bumper, which looks very good. I think I will do it. Will keep you guys updated. 8)

Yes - I had a squeak come from that area and it was bloody annoying as well, enough to persuade me to take my car back and swap it for another. It was definitely coming from the passenger side rear seat, seemingly from inside in that little mechanism at the back of it which locks to the boot latch. Press down the button on the top of the seat to unlock it then drive around again.
