  1. Just grab hold of it at the front and pull it forward. It feels like it's on a roller. It's a lovely smooth action. I have my seat as far back as it goes so i don't need to move it forward, but it's got such a lovely action it's good to play with while waiting at traffic lights!
  2. I'm sure the car's fantastic, it looks really nice and if you're anything like me you can't wait to get in and drive it. If you do have any issues with the car though you're better off dealing directly with the service department or talking to the dealer principal. Salesmen are usually fairly brain dead when it comes to the mechanics of a car and will just spin you a yarn to get you out of the showroom.
  3. Hiya craig, not wanting to sound too negetive but the thing about the clunk and the stereo sounds like typical salesman crap to me. I would monitor the noise over the next week and see when it does it and when it doesn't. My two previous focii were both 1.6 models and with a combined millage of 100,000 miles I never heard any noises like that. And being a driving instructor my car was probably moved off with full lock on more than most. The new oval surround stereo is so easy to remove it can literally done with your fingers and a screw driver isn't needed until you have to remove the screws t
  4. Well i hope They can sort your car quickly. One of my pupils noticed a little noise today on mine as you lift the clutch to move off like a click. So now i'm listening all the time. I really don't want to have to take mine back because the dealer (evans Halshaw) are so crap. I'm still waiting for them to settle my finance agreement for my old car three weeks and one more payment after i collected my new one. The cigarette lighter is an option and comes with a little ash tray that fits in the cup holder. I don't really see why you ne
  5. Hiya craig, the issue over the mileage meter sounds pretty weird. are the odometer and the trip mileage running in sync? The sony stereos seem very easy to scratch if you're not careful, mine has a couple that I noticed the other day. I don't know if they were on it when I got it or not. Because yours is so new they were probably done during the PDI interior clean. A clumsy person with a vacuum hose could probably do some damage. The inside of my windscreen was filthy when I got my car, it looked like it'd been cleaned with something waxy and i'm still struggling to get it off three weeks
  6. The car's looking really good craig. I like the chrome trim on the grill you get with the titanium. The good thing about a black car is when they're clean they look fantastic and after you've spent a few hours polishing it you can tell you've done it. Let us see some interior photos and tell us what you think of the 1.6 engine. Even though the interior looks pretty much the same I think you'll be able to tell the subtle differences in quality on the mk 2.5.
  7. to 60 maybe but mid-range will be a differenc affair I think. My 2.0 tdci does around 45 mpg. around town and about 60 mpg on a motorway run. My old 1.6 petrol did around 30mpg. around town and 45mpg on a motorway run. The zetec climate is the trim to go for too.
  8. No the wiring wont be in your car already. You'll need to buy the aux lead which has the socket on one end and the plug on the other which plugs into the back of the CD6000. I think there's a how to showing you how to do it and part numbers. it's fairly simple.
  9. The PDI should be done at the dealers so that it can't be scratched or damaged before it arrives at the dealers. I may be just being cynical after all the hassle i've had getting mine, which is still continuing. I'm sure everything will be fine, i'm looking forward to seeing the photos.
  10. Hello craig, have you asked the dealer if the car has arrived at the dealers yet? if it has try and get a look at it to make sure everything is as it should be. It could save some wrangling on friday.
  11. Thankyou for the compliment about my new car. it looks better in the metal. The bulbs I used were bought from xenons_uk through ebay. I bought a set includung H1 for the main beam, H7 for the dipped beam and some 501's for the side lights which i didn't use. They are called xenon ice blue. The H8's for the fog lights were from Aceparts_uk through ebay and are called xenon superwhite bulbs. The led's for the side lights i'd had for ages so i can't remember where i got those but thet are easily bought on ebay. try to get the smallest ones you can though because i think some of the bulky o
  12. It switches your side lights on and rear lights but not the interior lights.
  13. Well i like it anyway. Looks smart, goes well and gives great fuel economy.
  14. You'd be better swapping them for something else that's less expensive, less noisey and has better grip. I swapped mine before they wore out because i didn't like the slight feeling of the car slipping on wet roads even at fairly low speeds. I swapped mine for Toyo Proxes T1 which were about £20 per tyre less expensive, looked better reduced noise and gripped much better too. Fleet hire companies probably like them because they are very hard wearing so they have to replace less often. If you're changing both front tyres it doesn't matter if the tread is different to the back.
  15. Yeah i'm just waiting for my log book to come so i can swap it. New cars never seem like mine until i get my plate on it. The arm rests look really good on yours. I'll have to keep a look out for some on ebay.
  16. They look really good, i think my zetec S would benefit from a set of those.
  17. Here's my new car. 2.0 ltr tdci Zetec S. I kind of got it by accident and it took a lot of hassle to get it but i'm over the moon with it. I've changed all the bulbs and fitted a sunglasses holder but dont think i'll be changing anything else because I love it just the way it is.
  18. As promised, here are some pictures of my car. With standard bulb as it came last week. With all new bulbs, still a little yellow looking in daylight. But much better at night.
  19. No It's not really a * * * * to change the bulbs. With the right drive bit to remove the screw that holds the headlight in and a pair of long nosed pliers to remove the side light bulb holder it'll take you half an hour tops. Oh and I've found out that the fog lights are easier done from the front rather behind. I'll try and get some pictures of mine before and after posted tomorrow.
  20. The little plastic tag needs to be turned from vertical to horizontal so it'll be clockwise on the off side and anti clockwise on the near side. I thnk! I used a pair of long nosed pliers to turn the tag, it really needs a jiggle to get them out, and in.
  21. The headlight comes out after removing one screw just like the mk2. It's a little more awkward getting the light unit out of the body of the car though. the rubber caps on the back of the head light unit on the mk2.5 are much easier then the cover on the mk2 though. The hardest one to change is the side light but it's worth doing.
  22. Thanks for your reply. Since posting I've collected my car manual but it isn't a great help. The side light bulb holder is on a long piece of plastic that first has to be twisted through ninety degrees and then jiggled about a bit til it comes out. The back of the light unit has some rubber caps over the bulb holders which are very easy to take off. The fog light bulbs were a bit more hassle though because the H8 bulbs i got don't seem to wanna fit into the holders. I was trying from behind while the head lamp was out which was a bit awkward so I'll try again taking the fog unit out of the bum
  23. If you look a little closer the zetec and above models get a different centre console with a redesigned arm rest and handbrake, a folding flap that covers the storage area under the heater controls. The dash board top is made from a nicer material as the are the door trims. The gear stick is classier looking, the dails are all redesigned and the driver information display is bigger and easier to read with any warning chimes being a little more subtle than the abrupt beeping from my old car. I think mine's a nicer place to spend my day working.
  24. Hi all. I finally picked up my 2.0 ltr tdci Zetec S on friday and i'm really impressed with it. Before i'd even got the car I had planned to swap all the front light bulbs to improve the look of the car and improve the night time visibility, particularly the side lights. I've had all the new bulbs for a while so last night when i finished work I took one of the headlights out to see if it was as easy to change the bulbs as the mk2 was. Now in typical Evans Halshaw style the cars manual is missing so until I manage to get down to the dealers to collect it I was just poking around. The main, di
