  1. I've finally managed to get some photos of my spoiler for you to have a look at. The car wasn't very clean i'm afraid.
  2. I think it's 3 litres and the low warning comes on when there's a litre left. If you have the warning that is.
  3. There is an over flow which runs into the front offside wheel arch, or at least there is on the mk 2. I find on mine if i pour the fluid in too quickly it tends to run out the overflow and you get a wet shoe.
  4. I,ve upgraded mine too. Got them from Ebay. Dipped beam, main, side and fog lamps all in a kit. I didn't use the side light though cuz i got some LED bulbs for those which are fantastic and give a nice white light but don't dazzle. A very simple job on the Focus, on my old Fiat Stilo the car had to be jacked up to reach the light unit and the dealer tried charging me £50 to do it. they didn't get it because a week previous the other one had popped and they only charged me £5. Fools!
  5. You've done the hardest part then getting the arm rest cover off. There's about ten clips around the bottom and sides of the panel which you'll probably have to refit before putting the panel back on because a few of mine stayed in the door and they kind of need popping out properly so they go back into the door again. You'll see what i mean when you see them. And the clips along the top of the panel are moulded into the panel itself so you don't have to do anything with those.
  6. It really is worth a try though. I found the hardest part getting the trim off the arm rest to get to the two bolts underneath. I used a flat bladed screwdriver and a steel ruler, but a trim removal tool will probably be better if you can get your hands on one. Once that's off and you've removed the two bolts, squeeze your fingers between the bottom of the trim panel and the door and pull hard! wedge your feet under the door to give you more leveredge and you'll hear the clips pop off. Do the bottom first and then with the window open pull the top edge off, again you'll need some brut force b
  7. I had the annoying buzzing on my 3 door especially after i fitted the sony stereo because the sound can be adjusted much more, the door panel acts a bit like a drum skin as the speaker moves the air inside the door. I took both panels off mine and put small bits of felt round the holes where the fixing screws go through the panel, also there are some long plastic plugs that go into the door to help locate the door panel properly and these had big groves in them where they had been rubbing on the metal surrounding them so they got some felt on aswell. Then I got some lumps of foam and stuck the
  8. I'll try when i get chance and it stops raining.
  9. Yeah mine came with the crappy black spoiler, but now my car is sporting a lovely shiney red ST spoiler which looks ace! Fairly easy to fit and I like the position of the washer jet on this one compared to the old crappy one.
  10. The aux socket if fitted is at the top left of the glove box at the front in a little recess. It's dead easy to fit and the parts cost around £15. The most difficult thing was drilling a 20mm hole in the glove box liner to accomodate the socket. The extra wire for the socket fits into the original wiring plug for the stereo and then it just plugs straight back into the stereo. The recessed area in the glove box allows you to plug stuff in and still close the glove box lid, so you don't have to drive round with things spilling all over the floor.
  11. I'll have to leave my car out of the garage one night to get the full benefit of my heated gadgets. And when all the whizzpopper and VW owners are frantically scraping their screens I shall just sit and let everything defrost
  12. Hello everyone. Over the last few days when I've started my car in the mornings the heated front and rear screens have switched on automatically. My car stays in a garage overnight so i don't need them on, and my old 2005 Focus didn't do it. I'm assuming this is to do with the very low temperature in the mornings lately and works in a similar way to the aircon coming on with the air flow directed to the windscreen and the wipers slowing down when the car stops. Before I dig out the manual and check has anyone else noticed this? My current car's a 2008 by the way.
  13. I collected my spoiler from the painters today and it looks fantastic! If the weather stays fine it's going on tomorrow. Mine also came with the clear brake light, which may lead to a new set of rear lights from the mk 2.5 :D
  14. Hi all. Over the last couple of weeks my car has developed another very annoying metallic sounding rattle which seems to be coming from behind the dash board on the drivers side. As usual it's intermittent and very hard to pinpoint because you can't drive and get your head near the dash to listen at the same time. I've taken the lower panel off the dash to see if i can see anything but can't, I've also taken the top off the steering column to see if it's anything around there but no luck yet. So my next task is to remove the headlight switch to see if i can see or hear anything in there. So m
  15. It's colorado red. There aren't many red ones around near where I live, especially 3 doors so it gets a few second glances. 8)
  16. I collected mine from the dealers today after the first one arrived broken. So it just needs painting and it can go on. I'm hoping I don't have any sealant on mine, but the way water runs between the current spoiler and the glass when I wash it makes me think there isn't any.
  17. These parts were all seperate. Thanks for the part number though, I scoured this forum to try and find the part number but couldn't. I'll get back onto them tomorrow. I asked if there was a kit but he couldn't find anything. Luckily I haven't paid yet!
  18. I ordered mine today. The guy in the parts department was very helpful and made sure I ordered what I needed to swap the spoilers over. It cost £151 with the brake light and washer hose extension. I decided to go for the newest version with the white brake light so I may end up swapping the rear light clusters aswell :D
  19. Hi all, I've been thinking for a while about swapping the rear spoiler on my 08 zetec climate for a colour coded one and I thought the slightly larger ST spoiler might be nice, and a bit different. I was just wondering if anyone else had fitted one, and what else I would have to buy to fit the spoiler. For example, will I need a new high level brake light unit or will my original one go straight in? and what about the rear washer. I'd be grateful for any help as I was planning to go and order the parts tomorrow. :)
  20. My Favorite part is the three door body in colorado red. When it's freshly polished and your hands slide over the paint work (I need to get out more!). And I like the Mk2.5 Sony MP3 stereo, and I like when people ring me for driving lessons just because they've seen the car and love it! :D
  21. Doesn't look too chavvy but i wouldn't put one on my car, i prefere the colour coded one. I don't think the mk 2 suits too much chrome.
  22. I would say go for it! If you're worried about the mileage being correct look at the steering wheel. The leather shouldn't be too shiney with only 14,000 miles on the clock. The seats seem very hard wearing because when i swapped my old focus with 67,000 miles on the clock the seats were just as good as my new one. in fact the whole car was.
  23. The problem with the gears is when the car is stationary. If it was just me driving the it would be a slightly annoying inconvevience, but I use my car to teach people to drive and it is a real pain when the car wont go into gear properly even though they're doing everything right. I'm gonna get it booked in and see if there's anything that can be done to cure it.
  24. Hi all, Since getting my car 7 months ago brand new i have been having an intermittent problem with 1st gear and more recently reverse gear. The gears sometimes just wont go in, like something is stopping it engaging fully. If it wont go into first you can either put it into second and then go back to first, and with reverse the only way to get it to engage properly is to lift the clutch, push it down again and then it'll go in usually with a crunch. I haven't booked it into the garage yet so I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and if it was remedied. Thanks in adva
  25. Mine had a rattle in the B pillar on my 3 door which stopped if you pressed the area near the seat belt adjuster. It was really annoying because it's right next to your ear. Anyway I tried pushing a small rubber wedge between the rear side window and the plastic trim of the B pillar and the rattle has stopped. Hurray! I don't suppuse this cure would work on a 5 door though. Now I just have to find out why my centre console rattles when the arm rest is in the down position. I had the car in for it's first service yesterday but the car wouldn't make any noises because all the roads in the tow
