  1. My 18's came with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's, and I'm looking to replace like for like. Do they have to be XL rated (Extra load) for the C-Max or not? Seems like there's quite a price difference between the two... Thanks.
  2. Thanks. I'll let them know (again), and insist... :)
  3. Thanks Mastertech. I did mention this when the car was in last, as it had done it before (but not as regularly as now), but as there were no fault codes logged, they wouldn't carry out the work! I'm just hoping this time that there is a fault code logged! Thanks for the info. ;)
  4. Thanks 1955diesel. Mastertech, Before posting I read up as much as I could about the EGR fault, as it seems I have that problem (no power when trying to reverse off drive, even with foot to the floor on accelerator. This normally cures itself if I turn the engine off and on a few times...). It's due a service soon, so I'll mention it to Ford then, but in the mean time, I've read a sharp tap with a screwdriver will free up the valve. Is this correct? I know it's not ideal, but if it gets myself or my wife out of a scrape until it's addressed then it's worth knowing. Cheers.
  5. Where exactly is the EGR valve? Having some problems with power etc, and was hoping somebody could tell me exactly where the valve is? Photos would be great ;) Ta!
  6. Thanks for the info. I feel better knowing I'm not alone...
  7. Has ANYBODY got the passenger seat to trigger the seatbelt alarm in their Max?
  8. Hmmm, this doesn't work in my 05 C-Max. I've started another thread here about it though so as not to confuse.
  9. Re topic: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=123705 Does this work on your C-Max too? I've tried it numerous times with mine, and it definately DOESN'T know when there is somebody in the passenger seat... Is mine faulty or is this a Focus only thing?
  10. Earlswood by chance? Did it myself a few years back in a Cavalier. Luckily, the engine was replaced under a private extended warranty. It did go on to have a further three new engines though, but that was covered by whizzpopper as it was their fault for their crap! Sorry, I can't help with the engine price. Will it not turn over at all? Did it suck water into the engine, or just soak everything and stall because the exhaust was covered? Definately push the warranty angle though...
  11. Anybody know where the best place (easiest?) to pick up a switched 12v positive supply so I can hard wire my Road Angel? Wire colours, pictures, diagrams and dictation all greatfully recieved!! Hehehe. ;)
  12. Ahh, ok. Thanks again tomtom70. looks like it's my good ol' RoadAngel hooked up to my laptop then! :)
  13. When I purchased my car I opted for the Sony 6 CD and the DEATC. Can these be removed and a DVD navigation with single slot CD (Fords) fitted in their place? Is it a big job if it is at all possible? Thanks.
  14. Many thnaks for the reply tomtom70. This saves me hours of googling to try and find a model number. I'm in contact with Nokia over this, but they have just replied asking for a model number, doh! I'll let them know ;) Thanks.
  15. Can anybody tell me what the model number is for the advanced bluetooth module that's installed as a factory fit option? I know it is Nokia, but that's it. I'm trying to find out ALL available voice commands for it as I know some aren't listed in the manual. Thanks.
  16. Ahhh, thanks for that Cata-tonic. I'm sure that isn't mentioned in the instructions. I'll give it a go and let you know... On a side note, does anybody have any other voice commands that aren't mentioned in the included bluetooth manual? I know Tomtom70 mentioned a few a while ago, just wondered if there are any more? If there are a few more, maybe a seperate post with them in? (Sorry to hijack your thread FlyingfocRS...)
  17. I'm fairly sure there are some steering rack 'limiters' installed with the 18" option... I've read it somewhere, but I've just looked through and couldn't see it. Anybody substantiate? EDIT* Looks like you just beat me...hehe.
  18. Anybody tried the reverse process to get the belt-minder BACK ON! I can't get it to work at all. When I turn the ignition to position II, now that the belt-minder has been disabled, the belt warning indicator doesn't light up any more. If I take the process further and carry on with the nine unbuckles, then the belt warning indicator flashes 3 times and then stays off. The belt minder stays UN-activated though!! I've tried this a half a dozen times or so now, with the same result. Anybody know where I'm going wrong? Thanks.
  19. As far as I know, it's the microphone housing for the voice control system that is included with the advanced and premium bluetooth options... :)
  20. Arrgghhh... Now I just HAVE to know why!!
  21. Off the top of my head, this feature is only available in 05 models. When you pull up and turn off your ignition, just before leaving the car you 'flash' your full beam. Instead of just flashing however, your lights stay on for 30 secs (or a minute?) and then turn themselves off, giving you time to see you to your door etc.. Again, this is all off the top of my head, but I will check and get back to you.
  22. This thread is really just an information thread about C-Max gearbox's: After reading another thread about changing gearbox oil after the first 5-10K or so miles to remove swarf etc. created from the initial wear, I contacted Gandalf, the BBS's Technical Consultant, who agreed that changing the oil would be worthwhile: "After that fill with a decent oil to the releveant Ford spec. If you are going to fill and never change it then obviously it pays to get the very best oil you can. I personally swap mine every 30k and use a mineral synth fortified from Morris. www.morrislubricants.co.uk"
  23. Do you have HID Xenon's? If so, it's completely normal to not have the manual headlight leveller as the HID's are self levelling. :)
  24. Many thanks NickWells. With our 3 year old growing out of his seat, we too were looking at getting a new booster style seat with the ISOfix mountings, and thought we may as well get *matching seats for when our newborn is old enough. :) Looks like I'll be getting one first though, and when I do, I'll let you all know how I get on with it with a mini review. Right, i'd better get back to it. Our newborn is +1 day and counting ;)... Thanks again!
