  1. Be interested in this as well as mine hasnt worked since I bought it and I didnt realise
  2. Erm, its supposed to do that........ (Paul hopes he is right) EDIT - Ignore me, im tired and talking out of my a*se!
  3. I can just about manage 50mpg in my 1.6TDCi if I drive it VERY carefully.
  4. I doubt you'd ever achieve 65mpg for any length of time, thats about 750miles from a full tank assuming the handbook is right and the tank is 53 litres(11.66 gallons). I filled mine up yesterday, stopped when the pump clicked for the first time. Did Edinburgh and back, mostly motorway with maybe 60 miles of country lane driving and a bit of round town. On the motorway the speedo was stating 90mph most of the way(83-86mph according to the TomTom) and the fuel light has just come on at 480miles which works out about 41mpg which i;m quite happy about. Having said that I dont know how much fue
  5. Not been mentioned on the C-Max Forum :( Ahhhhh..... Nothing to see here, move along!
  6. Think this has been covered mate in other EGR blanking style threads, if mine packs up I'm seriously considering blanking it off rather than pay Fraud to fix it(assuming they wont fix it under warranty).
  7. Wonder who you will be calling when they open in the morning  As soon as our car was at the Ford dealer they diagnosed the EGR very quickly. Was the fault with yours constant? Mines only happened 3 times and only after prolonged motorway driving, that wont be included in their test drive and diagnosis.
  8. All, my usual journey in the C-Max(54 place 1.6TDCi with DPF) are fairly short(less than 20 miles) and the car rarely gets pushed over 3000revs as I use the grunt of the turbo band and have experienced no engine issues so far. BUT - Today I had to go from Warrington to Norwich to do a job and then back. Got 150miles into the journey down their and most of it was at a steady 75ish being gentle with the throttle, got onto the A14 and had to drop to 4th and noticed that as a feathered the throttle(possible at the rev range where the turbo cuts in) it was very lumpy, sort of on off on off when o
  9. Do a search for my previous threads mate, I've had nothing but trouble, not just with the car but the way the dealer has handled my "issues". Promised phone calls never materialised. I even took my complaint to their regional Sales Manager who called me and assured me she would write to me once she had looked into my issues and let me know what they intended to do. That was over 2 months ago and I'm yet to manage to get to speak to her again and all the local guy says is that he cant help until she speaks to him. Rude staff, poor standards of servicing/fault finding. A complete shambles in m
  10. Polar Ford of Warrington, utter **** (Edited by Admin)
  11. Good point I'll check mate. I'm fairly sure recirc is working ok cause I can hear it spin up faster when turned on :)
  12. Cant find any water in the car, all carpets and rubber seals are bone dry, if there is moisture in the car im buggered if I can find it lol
  13. Cheers mate, I wanna know the C-Max is so bad, I was surrounded by Audi's whizzpoppers, other Fords including Focus's and they werre all crystal clear. I've had modern cars and they werent a problem but I guess it may be another C-Max quirk I have to live with lol
  14. (queue jokes) Need some advice where to start looking for the "problem". Ever since i got the C-Max I noticed that it tends to mist up easier than my previous cars but now the weather has started getting wetter more often the problem is getting quite bad. I realise that I could be partially the problem but I have never had a car in the past do it this bad. It seems everytime I drive the car when its either raining or has been raining the windows steam up, every window, both front/rear screens and all 6 side windows, to the point that you literally cant see anything out of them and you cant
  15. That doesnt sound right. If I remember my friends 2.0 Mondeo is supposed to be about 30MPG, not sure if thats urban or combined but my previous car, a 1994 Volvo 940 SE Turbo 2.0(weighing in at just under 2 tonnes) used to get 30MPG if I drove it sensibly so I'd definately say theres a problem!
  16. I think you need a windback tool for the rear brakes but apart from that I'm not sure.
  17. I hear a whining noise when accelerating through the gears with the AC on, again Ford say theres nothing wrong.
  18. Yep, like I said mate been driving years and they all felt different but not had one this bad. If I release the clutch, depress and try again 9 times out of 10 it is just as bad and I HAVE to force it. :(
  19. Oh, another thing that makes me suspect the cluitch is that with the clutch out and the car in neutral I can hear the faint release bearing type noise.
  20. All, I am still waiting for Ford to acknowledge a letter I sent them about the poor condition(in my opinion) of the C-Max I bought several months ago. The biggest issue for me at the moment is the gearbox. Just wondered if people could give me there input into what they think might be wrong. The car has had the flywheel changed due to a cluitch related issue I had that I kicked up a fuss over. The symptoms are this, its very difficult to engage 1st gear from a standstill approx 50% of the time. I make sure the clutch is depressed all the way and it will go partially into gear but "jam" a
  21. I clay bar'd and waxed the bonnet on my C-Max(Panther Black) and looked down directly on it. Quite frankly I was f*cking appalled at the quality of the paint.
  22. I had to reverse up a slight grassy incline the weekend, the car just bogged down and wouldnt move any move and the clutch smelt awful. I've NEVER had that kind of smell from that kind of driving except for the C-Max.
  23. Excellent! Seriously considering doing this to mine, I havent got an issue with visibility but several times my other half has said to me, "erm babe, how about some lights" even though they were on. Can I just ask(as I havent looked at my headlights as yet) does this replace just the dipped beam or are dipped/high combined in the one buld? I assume sidelights are unaffected? What kit is it you bought as I'd be interested in doing this. Cheers
