  1. and, why do they only give you one key??
  2. I was told new calipers were a fix for reversing noise
  3. On my fourth c-max and it is only the present car (2005 model) that does not (so far) suffer from the infuriating creaking and rattling syndrome. So there must be a fix possible if they have solved it with later cars.
  4. just got my Ghia back today - it was in regards badly fitted trim - asked for any updates to be done and the service guy said they had just recieved a new disk from Ford and that he would check
  5. just be carefull with 2004 gate release as they can be very problematic
  6. Thank guys - Problem solved, they have offered me a lump of money to compensate for mucking me about. I did not fancy changing again as the insurance was more on the ULTIMA and the GHIA I have is smashing - 05 build, panther black leather heated seats............
  7. does the lowering solve the body roll problem??
  8. I've had three now and in my opinion the Ghia is worth the extra. the leather heated seats are really nice. the 2L TDCI is a much nicer drive then the 1.6 TDCI as well.
  9. OK, thanks for the feed back. Now, strictly from a value/resale point of view whats yout opinion on the following. I have presently a one owner (me) panther black 2005 Ghia with leather/privacy glass/park assist and it has covered 2000 miles. The offer is to exchange it for a new but pre registered 2005 build Ultima to the same spec. I am guessing the Ultima would still be worth more, what do you guys think?? As I really want to cut my losses and sell as I have had a number of bad experiences with Ford and I have had enough of them.

  11. Any one an Idea as to why ford have discontinued the C – Max ULTIMA. My dealer bless him, has offered me one as a replacement for a problematic GHIA I recently purchased (saying nothing about it being withdrawn of coarse) sounding like a bad Idea what do you guys think??
  12. you will find out soon enough when you put the car in for a service and get wacked with a very heavy bill if it has particulate filter, and when it needs changing in a few years an even heavier one - they dont tell the private motorist this when you buy one.
  13. One of the reasons (amongst many) that we rejected the car, bloody dangerous! my wife felt the car was unsafe and refused to drive it. and before any one says it - it happened to me as well, on one occasion I had to chase after it!
  14. Now on C-Max no 3 (see “third time lucky?” post) and this time absolutely no problem with smell - so it was a manufacturing fault after all.
  15. And yes dash still creaks a bit I'm afraid. No other options were available as I went for a car that they had in stock.
  16. Just treated myself to the panther black/privacy glass/ rear parking assist and the leather interior - which comes with heated front seats. the electric seats now have more controls to them.
  17. On my third cmax ghia tdci in 7 months – Yes I no, a glutton for punishment! I looked around at the competition but still the cmax was hard to beat. This 2005 built one is a vast improvement, a totally different car to the 2004 build ones I had previously. I had the entire range of well none problems plus acrid fuel smell and a hand brake with a mind of its own. Now no smell, a clock that you can actually change the time on, a heater that works within a short time of leaving my home instead of a half an hour before warmth came through ( dealer tried ton tell me this was because the TDCI engine
  18. Mmm, maybe that explains why this happened to a 2litre tdci courtesy car (one year old 10.000miles) that I had recently, the clutch disintegrated while I was going around the M25 - the smell was terrible. I am still not convinced that this isn’t exhaust fumes though. Either that or my wifes driving!
  19. I am on my second c – max, this one a 2L ghia tdci. The first was a 1.6 version. Along with the normal frustrating problems both exhibit similar problems with a build up of fumes within the car - this is such a problem that my wife refuses to use the car. This is not a fresh diesel smell but a nasty burnt smell, which has ruined the interior and spoilt the new car experience. Main dealer is continuing to ignore my repeated rejection of this vehicle. Any one any ideas as to the cause? Can anyone remeber which magazine reported the c - max as the worst for inacurate published fuel figures?
  20. Can some one explain how to view what firmware I have please. as they have had my 2 litre tdci ghia for 2 weeks and the fuel consumption is still below 30mpg.
