  1. Something that may help to stick them down, is a little bit of pritt stick on the bottom of the LED down onto the circuit board (NOT on the pins) This glue will burn off when soldering, and will make soldering surface mounted components a little easier. (You'll see what i mean when the LEDs arrive if you haven't got them already.)
  2. It's a bit longer than 3 seconds, but the sense of urgency to get it done is still there. If the plastic starts to melt, then you know it's time to chuck it, and put a new one on.
  3. Good luck mate! Just be sparing with the solder, and soldering iron, LEDs don't like being heated up much, so be quick! And they're also polarity sensitive. What colour you going to be doing the speedo? And don't forget the before & after shots.
  4. Whilst we're on the subject of tyres, i have pirelli p7s on the rear, and two dunlop tyres on teh front, with the dunlops being different tyres, with different treads. Is it advisable to have the same tyres on the front? or is having two different tyres ok?
  5. Yeah, my '56 one doesn't have dimming control, may buy the unit, so i get the adjustability!
  6. These are from teh conti website. Contisport 3 Contisport 2 The contisport 3 seems to be a newer, potentially better tyre.
  7. Well, superchips give this one. http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/Focus16VVT115PS.pdf take it with a teeny pinch of salt, as it'll be from a car they've mapped, and every engine is different.
  8. door card is the interior trim part of the door. it's the plastic and fabric part of the inside of the door. Better definition here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Door_card
  9. So i fancy getting myself a nice aero wiper to match the front ones. They come off and on easy enough, it's just i don't know what to get. What do i have to look for at the arm, apart from the length? Are the mounts different between the car manufacturers?
  10. I had this prob which was taken care under warranty. Apparently the window regulator was faulty and was replaced which fixed this prob.. What's the warranty like in regards to this? My car is just over 2 years old now, and still 1 year left of the warranty. Would the warranty cover the rattle still? May pop down there today some time, and see what they say. Got a day off uni today see :D
  11. It will have glow plugs which will warm up prior to starting the engine. I always wait for the light to turn off before starting the engine anyway, albeit mines a 1.8.
  12. Unlucky mate. At least it'll be a reason to get a 2.0 tdci, like you were saying a while back. glad you're ok, and as said, shoot the hozzy if you're feeling pains. What's the damage that's been caused? Bet it feels horrible especially after all the work you've done to make it look pretty awesome.
  13. if the steering wheel didn't come with the airbag. IIRC, they're two seperate items from fords, that's if you buy them new.
  14. I have a major squeak coming from the passenger seat i moved the seat forwards one notch and reclined a little, and the squeak is no more.
  15. So when i've got my windows open, and going at a decent speed (Say 40+), i can hear whistling from the wind around the passenger side wing mirror. What's strange is that the drivers side doesn't whistle. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this, and what, if anything can be done to solve it, so as to reduce the whistling, which is noticeable.
  16. Did you pop open your airbox and have a look? (Takes 30 seconds) Mine takes the panel filter, and the fords one is one of the best tbh.
  17. bigbeere, You've got it too, what's that patch of soft sided velcro for? Mine was on when i got the car from ford direct... No idea why it's there.
  18. Well, it's simple enough. Mine looks like this after. All the instructions say, is twist and pull the old one.. HAHAHAHAHAA, what a laugh, it won't come off by twisting and pulling. This is where i got my trusty old stanley blade out, and slowly cut into the hand brake cover down the ridges on either side of the top of the cover, working from back to front, doiung it lightly and going over a lot,so as to slowly go down to the metal in the middle. Once it;s relatively loose, i snapped offparts till it slid off. The new one slides on nice and easily, but needs a little bit of effort to
  19. When the front windows are about half way down, i get a rattle when going over bumps. That's it.
  20. Right, done it now; it's here http://ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name=Foru ... c&t=199322
  21. So, after a lot of people decided to waste £30, and get the full wipers, and not just replace the rubbers inside, i've decided to go against the grain, and just get the rubber refills. I'll now show how i replaced them, sure they come with instructions, but i'll post how i did it anyway! Right, what you need; 1x pack of wiper refills, i got mine from this ebay shop, as nowhere else sells them. (Tried all the local motor shops). your wiper blades 1x long nosed pliers 1x scissors 1x pliers. The instructions say you need to remove both ends of the wiper blades, but no you don'
  22. WHAAAA??? The drivers side is a country mile longer compared to the tiddly little passengers side ;)
  23. Right, i've just ordered some of the new refills. I'll do a brief how to when they arrive :)
