  1. Mine is an 05 Zetec Climate, and that has it so I would have thought a Ghia would have as it is higher spec.
  2. Yes you may be right now i think about it. Just a thought.
  3. It could be that your Windscreen washer fluid is low, but is on the borderline and the fluid just dips low enough when moving to bring it on for a split second, but not low enough to give you a warning message?
  4. my 05 1.6 does this too, but only if I have both front and rear screens on together, Which makes me think it is belt related.
  5. Ahhhh, Might explain it then as mine has done 41,000 and spent its whole life outside.
  6. No worries. Slightly worried about how much mine has compared to yours though for saying they are the same age.
  7. Mine is an 05, exactly the same as the above but with more rust! The part that comes through the floor before the joint is solid brown/orange!
  8. I think it is actually better where it is. The next time you are in the car, try imagining it is on the drivers side and pretend to try and release it, I tried it and i would have been bashing my arm on the arm rest every time I used it. Dont know if thats due to me being 6'5" and the position of my seat or what.
  9. Mine is an 05 Zetec Climate, also locks from the passenger door.
  10. I've started experiencing the above creak/rubbing sound on my 05 Zetec Climate. Mine is not very loud, You can only hear it when stationary with the radio off. I've read about the issues with tie rods, and was wondering if this is a safety issue or not. My car is due for its service in a couple of thousand miles time and as I do not have any holidays left at work, I would really like this to be looked at and have the service and MOT all done at the same time just after xmas. So I guess I am asking whether I should get this looked at ASAP of whether it will be alright until after xmas. The
  11. My 1.6 Climate does 39-40 on the motorway and 36 around town. I do put my foot down a bit on motorways though so I suppose it cound be better!
  12. Mine says just the time all the while :( . Is yours the one with the Aux in button or CDDJ? Perhaps that makes a difference?
  13. Evening all, I went out in my Mum's 06 Fiesta on Friday, and noticed that the display on her 6000CD stereo displayed both the time and the date. However I have the same stereo in my 05 Zetec Climate which only displays the time. I've had a quick look through the manual which quite frankly is not very helpful at all to see if it has to be enabled in a menu somewhere or something, or whether that function doesnt work on the focus and i'd have to take it to Fords and pay £££ to get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas of whether it can be changed to display the date as well or am I stu
  14. I had a 3 door fiesta that an elderly chap reversed into the side of in a supermarket car pack. It needed a new front L/H wing and a door skin and was told it would be ready by Wednesday. I rang on the Wednesday morning to see what time I could collect it, to be told that it wasn't ready, as Ford had delivered panels for a 5 door and not the 3 door and were still waiting for the correct panel to arrive. So yes, I know how you feel mate.
  15. Mine was £175 three years ago. He said it was more because it was metallic though.
  16. I had them do 3 deep scratches in my rear bumper which needed filling and painting about 3 years ago on a metallic silver Brava, I was impressed with the end result, in fact you couldnt tell at all. It depends what area(s) you want doing though, I had a scratch on the back door too and I asked him if he could do that as well, and he said they didnt like to do repairs in the middle of panels as it was hard to match. The work I had done was on the corner of the bumper underneath the lights and they were about 4 inches long. If it happened again, I would def use them again. James.
  17. Yes, It would be nice if it was like my Mums Fiesta though, They come on automatically every time you lock the car.
  18. I've a couple of spots on the rear cross member, nothing major though. In fact, every car i've had has had rust on cross members. I think its just one of those things. A mk3 Fiesta I had about 10 years ago was covered in it.
  19. Afternoon all, I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advise please. I own a 3 year old Zetec Climate (05) which has done 32,000 miles. I went on a 400 mile round trip down to the south coast a couple of weeks ago, and since then I have noticed a kind of rumbling feeling through the steering wheel at low speeds and sometimes feel slight knocking through the wheel if I'm driving on uneven roads. I sometimes get a small knock when I take up the drive in first gear too. However the faster I drive, the better it seems to get, and at motorway speeds I cannot feel the rumbling or knockin
  20. Well I had a go at taking the spoiler off on Wednesday afternoon. It was simple really, just remove the rear brake light, take out 5 bolts, a couple of knocks to undo the lugs and its off. The hardest part was manouvering it once it was off as the washer pipe is rather short and doesnt give you much room to move about. It was obvious what the problem was as soon as it came off. The rubber seal around one of the lugs has been pinched when it was originally put on and I could see by the water marks that it had been seeping underneath the seal. A bit of sealant around the lugs (and the bolt hol
  21. I had mine from Halfords, They were £36.99. I was a bit dubious about buying their own brand wipers as i've had experiences in the past with them not wiping properly but they have been fine so far (touch wood). A word of warning... If you ever change the rear one, make sure the new one is identical to the old one before you take it off. I asked my Ford dealer for a new rear blade, and after they had tried 3 different blades, the fourth one would have fitted if the chap hadn't bust the clip on the arm trying to get the others on, apparently they are not that robust and tend to break easily a
  22. Does anyone by any chance know if the rear spoiler on a zetec is bonded on or is it just a case of undoing the 5 bolts from the top of the tailgate and disconnecting the high level light and washer pipe? Cheers.
  23. I've had that problem with the tailgate hinge and tracking down the cables. you could see a minute bit of rust where the hinge met the body, so I got some touch up paint and put plenty on around the join where the hinge meets the panel. That solved that leak. My problem is on the actual tailgate itself. If you open the tailgate there is a trim panel that goes across the top of the tailgate with a join at either end. If you remove this panel you can then see 3 recessed bolts that hold the spoiler and high level brake light on. The water on mine is coming in somewhere around these bolts and th
  24. Did you manage to sort it in the end mate?, as I have the same problem. It seems to be seeping from the hole that the plastic trip clips onto near the join. I thought about trying to take the spoiler off myself to see if I can see anything, But I dont like the look of the sides where its clipped onto the glass. Knowing my luck I wont be able to get them back on again :D
