  1. Well, just got back from my friendly Ford dealer having just ordered the new Focus Estate. It is the 1.6 (125) Titanium Powershift Estate in Ink Blue. (The pretol auto's have only just been launched!). I managed to get the city pack thrown in but declined the other options. I was contemplating getting the Sat Nav option but decided against it as it meant losing the Sony Stereo unit as currently Sat Nav is only available with the Ford unit (unlike on the C-Max). I now have to wait until November/December for delivery. If I had wanted a diesel it would have been at least 6 months wait ap
  2. It means it was bl%%dy cold this morning lol. I have to admit the Quick clear front windscreen is a brilliant invention. Less than a minute I am away whilst the neighbours are still out with their de-icer and scrapers. Its also great both front and rear heated windscreens come on automatically when its cold as well. Pete
  3. After doing the levels, tyre pressures etc they then usually try to flog you Ford accessories such as Mud flaps, car mats etc etc. I think it gives the dealers a second try to flog you stuff more than any real servicing needs. Pete
  4. My neighbour (who I will persuade to join once he has his new car) had a build date for his new Mk2.5 Focus as last Thursday (11th September) but his dealer is being a bit vague as to when the car will be delivered. Has anyone got a rough idea how long it is currently taking to get cars from the plant in Germany to dealers in the UK?. I think when my Focus was built back in 2005 it was about three weeks but just wondering if that has changed nowadays. Many thanks Pete

  6. Well, I ordered my new Mk2.5 Focus 2.0 TDCI Powershift Titanium back in early May. I was originally told delivery would be in late July as Powershifts are a factory order and I had specced a few options as well. Delivery then slipped to the 2nd week of August. Then into September. Now slipped again until 1st week of November. And that is direct through a Ford dealer. TBH I am thinking of telling them to shove it if it slips any further. Pete
  7. I think that was an optional extra I thought it was only on the estate version. Pete
  8. Hi Slacker, Well, after having a Panther Black Mk2, I've gone for Sea Grey with the Mk2.5 Pete
  9. I have one on oder, due for delivery in August (was originally July) I agree they are very smart when on the move. Pete
  10. Hi, My central locking went a bit 'hit and miss' for a while. It was cured by a new battery in the fob. That was also when the car was just over a year old so could be worth trying that first. Pete
  11. I thought the servicing interval was 12.5k miles (or yearly if sooner) on the Mk2. Thats according to my handbook and also Polar Ford who have just done my 37.5k miles service. Pete
  12. Yes, on the Mk2 ESP was an option on most models (ST excluded). However it is fitted as standard on the new Mk2.5 There doesn't seem to be a button for it on the 2.5 though. I believe it is switched on/off via the indicator stalk controls which adjusts the steering etc. My new 2.5 is due to arriive in August (was originally July but delivery has 'slipped' a bit) so i will have something new to play around with when I eventually get it. Pete
  13. Not just the offset. The Mk2 has 5 stud wheels Pete
  14. Hi jamz, It is a pretty naff place to put it if it is in the glove box. It will mean driving around with the glove box lid open (giving the front seat passenger DVT cos they cannot move their legs!). Or else closing the lid and trapping the cable wihch probably won't do the cable much good. I have looked on the Ford website and the brochure but neither give any clue as to where it will be located. Pete
  15. Hi, I have just put in my order for a new Mk2.5 Focus to replace my current Mk2 as it is coming upto 3 years old. Amngst the nicey bits (optional extras) I have specced is the 240 volt electrical socket (so I can charge up the laptop, camera batteries etc etc) whilst on the move). The only thing is, does anyone know where the socket will actually be located in the car?. The slaesman had no idea as he had never seen a new Focus with one fitted. Muchas gracias Pete
  16. Hi, Yes, I saw one at the Ford dealers last week. Definitely looks like glossy primer. I think it was either Avalon or Moondust Silver. Pete
  17. Hi, Click through the links on this site for the Mk2 Focus owner handbook etc: http://fordfcsd.wunderman.be/UK/default.asp Enjoy your new motor Pete
  18. Hi, My Mk2 Focus was in for its 37.5k miles service yesterday at the main dealer (Polar Ford). Whilst it was in, amongst doing the normal servicing bits, they changed the front brake pads and the rear brake discs and pads. Now, although I don't have to pay for the servicing and parts etc, I am just a bit intrigued as to why the front only needed pads and rear needed discs and pads. I thought most of the braking wear would be on the front and the front discs would wear away quicker than the rear discs?. Both sets of discs were original by the way. To be honest I didn't think about i
  19. I think it was standard fitment on the Mk2 Ghias and Titaniums. Pete Edited to say, just checked my original 2005 Mk2 Brochure - like i thought it was standard fitment on Ghia and Titanium level models. It was not even offered as an option on any other trim levels. Pete
  20. I think there was only Panther Black Mk2's that didn't have the paint mis-match originally. Pete
  21. Hi, Like Andydajo above, I open my tailgate very slowly when the car is wet to prevent the water running in to the boot. I wonder if this design flaw has been ironed out in the new Mk2.5?. I suppose I will only find out when I get mine in a couple of months unless someone who has now got one can say? Pete
  22. Hi , The Mk2 Focus Sport came with a choice of engines usually in the 1.6 to 1.8 range with equivalent Diesels available as well. It was more of an uprated LX with the 3 spoke steering wheel, Fog Lights and a couple of other bits, but didn't have such as the sports suspension, sports seats or heated front windscreen of the Zetec/Zetec Climate range. There were also a few cosmetic differences such as the chrome trim around the front grill as fitted on the Zetec. In model order it came between the LX and Zetec. It was dropped from the range along with the LX when the Style model was int
  23. Hi, The 'variable' steering settings (Comfort, Normal and Sport) are fitted on Mk2 Focuses (Foci?) that have the 'Electro-Hydraulic' Power Assisted Steering (as opposed to straight Hydraulic PAS). This is basically the 1.8 and 2.0 Petrols and the Diesels. It is not fitted on either 1.6 petrol engine (100ps or 115ps) or the 1.4 Petrol. In addition, cars must also be fitted with the 'Message Centre' as Ford calls it in order to switch between modes. Message Centre is the LCD display that gives info such as 'Miles to Empty' and 'Average Fuel', 'Average Speed' etc. Pete
