  1. It would have been nice to have the RDS do it...
  2. I don't have a Ghia so I wasn't following that thread after I'd commented on the warranty thing, Nick. I might ask them to get me a replacement under warranty but not fit it until the current one is totally #!##ed. There's a lot more chrome trim on the car than the badge, I wonder if it's all to the same low standard? I remember cars back in the 60s and 70s (showing my age there!) used to get pitting on chrome parts after a while but I would expect more than 6 months out of a badge! vitrocmax
  3. I've looked at the seats in my August 03 built Zetec and the mountings are there. There is a bit of foam seat padding over them, but it pulls to the side as shown in Nick's picture. vitrocmax
  4. Have you looked at your tailgate badge recently? Here's mine... and for a closer view... I've got 2 days of warranty left to report it! vitrocmax
  5. Here's a pic of mine... Definite rust, and maybe a slight appearance on the bracket itself. I might give them a spray with saltwater, and see if I can get them like jp's! One thing connected with the brackets is the struts themselves - has anybody found they don't have the strength to take the door up on it's own without assistance? Mine are a bit sluggish and sometimes they need a fair pull on the tailgate to get it up  It was a getting a bit dark so I used flash for the photo and it's not as good as I'd like so I may change it later.
  6. There's a small amount of rust on the fixings on my August 03 build, but nowhere near as much as yours, jp. It's odd that Ford use black bolts on an unpainted part of the car. Mine are the same 'bufo' brand. I'll have another look tomorrow when it's light, and see if there's any sign of the brackets being affected. I mentioned it to my dealer when I picked the car up after it's service, and he said they would look at other newer cars to see if it was still an issue, but it might be just cars made around the early build date. We'll see what response other dealers have. As for the battery
  7. I think it should look like the Scenic (and other Renaults) with a reflective metallic finish to it. But it might not. vitrocmax
  8. Hi richardwjackson, you've had a welcome from Fraggle and here's another from me. Regarding the ISOFIX there's a post here about the mounting points. I don't need them so I haven't checked, but it's clear from the post that you can find them if they are there. vitrocmax
  9. I don't have mine to check but as it's with the dealer for some warranty work I'll be checking them when I go to collect it. Is it the bracket for the tailgate support gas struts? That looks serious because if one set of screws could get so rusty then there could be others that we can't see in a similar condition. Rust stain marks are also evident on the brackets.
  10. I think I posted a bit too soon, and should have completed my sentence. It sounds daft, looking at it now. I intended it to read more on the lines of 'It saves the pain of having a ticket stuck to your lips after you've put it in your mouth because there's nowhere else to put it when you are parking up after picking a ticket out of the machine at the entrance to the car park. Then you put it in your pocket and take it with you. vitrocmax
  11. It's just been covered. Click this. :) vitrocmax
  12. Hi disney cjd, it's a long story... I'll be posting up some detail when I get my car back. It went in on the 14th Feb for a few fixes and they (Benfield York Road, Leeds) have had it ever since. I have a Fiesta on loan from them, and I've started to compile a list of issues with it... Anyway, it's OT so I'll close now. This thread is for positive comments about a great car... Look out for my post when I get it back. vitrocmax
  13. Hi cmaxghia, welcome to our little corner of the forum. Is your car under 12 months old? It's a warranty issue. I don't recall anyone having that fault on our list. My car is a Zetec so I don't have the EPB but the lid falls off my ashtray if I so much as stare at it, but it does go back on easily. That said, I've forgotten to put it on my warranty issues list. vitrocmax
  14. Welcome back to the thread JNevilleA! So I got you to post after all! :D Small detail, I'm currently driving a 3 month old Fiesta LX (while my C-Max is in for a few bits of warranty work), and it shares many features with the C-Max. But the lights-on reminder and warning beep is a gentle 'ping' and not the irritating loud BEEEEP we get on the C-Max. If they can fit something so easy on the ear on a cheaper (and noisier) Fiesta, why do we get such a sounder that could be used as the car horn if we stuck it out of the window? As you said, you were TOLD you needed fuel, not given a gentle
  15. The Owner's Guide says; 'The card holder can be used to store cards such as car park tickets etc.' It saves the pain of having a ticket stuck to your lips after you've put it in your mouth because there's nowhere else to put it! But why three?
  16. The safety issue is the sudden stop from 70 to 'limp mode', Chris. I looked back over the topics because I didn't think that safety was an issue with noisy brake pads. I've spoken to my dealer again today, and I might get my car back next week. Noisy brakes was on the list of things to do, but I haven't asked him what they have done about that yet. I'll be posting up the results of the warranty work when I get the car back. (OT but at least the brakes are in it!) vitrocmax
  17. How lucky are you! They (Benfield Ford) have had my C-Max for 3 weeks and haven't rung me once. I don't know when I'll get it back. It's not a Ghia though, so I don't have a saggy seat issue. vitrocmax
  18. AlunS, the moulding round the card slot is just that - a moulding. There's no way to remove it. Now here's an interesting picture (well, I think it's interesting!) It's from the Ford accessories brochure, and I thought it was just a mirror image to make it look like a RHD car. But if you look carefully at the fan speed switch it's the right way round, as is the radio display. (The wiper switch gives it away). Someone at Ford decided to doctor the picture, I would have thought it would have been easier to take a photo of the right one in the first place. I must have too much time on m
  19. I didn't have a shortlist... You can see my first post here vitrocmax
  20. Of course, if you're never going to post again you can't answer that...
  21. I don't recall which forum I read it on (I thought it was this one!) but it seems somebody has had a problem with water in the microswitch that's in the tailgate release mechanism. Could that be the fault you are having? I'll have a look around and see if I can find the post. vitrocmax
  22. I've had a Fiesta for 3 weeks while my C-Max is in for warranty work. I'd had it 2 weeks before I found there is a tailgate release button on the dash, obscured by the steering wheel. My wife's car is an older model Fiesta LX, and we have to use the key on that so finding and using the button this last week on the new one has been really useful. :) vitrocmax
  23. If your dealer changes the seatcovers the same way my dealer changed the rooflining then yes, they will look worse than they do now. :x I'm expecting the next rooflining to look better, because they have done it before and hopefully learned where they went wrong... So maybe your next seat covers might be OK. I'm not sure if fuss is the right word- as you say, you have paid a lot for the car and anyone would expect the seats to stay in good condition for a longer time than they have done. Your dealer should respond without you having to make a fuss. His concern should be with Ford
  24. Hi JNevilleA. I share your sentiment about the ability and versatility of the C-Max. One thing that puzzles me, though. Why your final comment? I'm sure you have more to give, even if it's only to support those of us who do give positive comments about the car. vitrocmax
  25. Not a fuel consumption post, so OT but I agree about the list; when I get my car back after the current warranty work is done I will be checking every one of the 21 items detailed on my list. It went in on the 14th Feb and it's still not done! Good job I'm patient. I did put a comment at the end of the list that they could keep the car as long as they need to fix everything. Maybe they'll keep it 2 years until the warranty runs out? OK, you can get back on topic now... vitrocmax
