  1. Thats with the normal Focus. The C-max has three types of additional heater that can be fitted. 1) Electrical A PTC heater located in the heater box. To heat Air only. 2) Diesel Auxilliary An Eberspacher diesel hater plumbed into the coolant circuit. 3) Parking heater As 2 above but with timer capability so that the vehicle can be warmed up prior to setting off on your journey.
  2. According to TIS it's 8.9 litres when dry. When refilling there is a specific method for checking the level that involves cycling through each gear selector position and hitting a specific RPM. It also mentions using WDS for some reason. I suppose the transaxle can default if low fluid pressure is detected. Cannot find the service life of the fluid but to me every year seems excessive. I suggest you phone Fords to find out for sure.
  3. Unless of course you've got a Cmax then it can have an electric heater as an option!!
  4. You have little faith in the dealers then?? The process that the dealers should follow after an initial investigation is that the unit will be sent back to Visteon for repair and a loan unit will be put into your vehicle whilst it's being checked/repaired. An intermittent short on any speaker lead will cause the audio output chips to shut down so sound will be lost from all speakers. This is best left to the dealer to fix. Cruise/Engine should not be affected unless the dealer technician starts fiddlling with other systems. The vehicle speed info comes along the CAN network for the radio.
  5. It's designed like that. When you select screen it thinks you want to clear it. Best way is the dried air from the A/C.
  6. TopsCal, As Nick says above. The answer is no it won't. At present there is no update to 0542 except a replacement cluster. Even if you order one you cannot guarantee that the one you get hasn't been in stock for a while and is an older level. Ford do not issue routine software updates for any modules except for the powertrain module.
  7. I would hope it is..... The ESP light on when you are driving is not dangerous unless you plan on pushing the vehicle round bends at high speed. When the systems shut down to fail safe they go to the safest condition possible. Effectively the feature is turned off.
  8. See circuit below. Not sure where to start looking. Possibly check relay and any connections. Wiper relay is common on normal Focus. If the wiper parks properly then I would look at the drive side to the relay. This is done by electronics in the fuse box. Really a dealer job. If the wiper doesn't park then check the relay and any connections around the fuse box and wiper motor, but I think that the relay may be intergral to the fuse box and not changeable. Not an easy one to try to advise on without seeing the vehicle..
  9. I had the same with the seat back slowly reclining. (Normal Focus) I thought I was imagining it so put a mark on the adjuster. Sure enough the wheel was turning. Dealer fitted a new seat mechanism under warranty.
  10. It'll be interesting to keep a poll of how many and how often this occurs.....
  11. How long had you left the vehicle standing before you tried the remote? After a period of time the remote system shuts down to conserve the vehicle battery. But this is normally days/weeks not hours. Unlocking with the key wakes it up again. Any local 433.9mhz source can block the remote controls.
  12. As I said earlier........ You can give it a try but it should be disabled. Maybe on earlier ones they got through. Who knows when Visteon are involved.
  13. Moondust. You are correct. With the ignition on you should not get this message.
  14. Ouch!! You can give it a try but it should be disabled. Maybe on earlier ones they got through. Who knows when Visteon are involved. :!:
  15. By default the customer key learning on C-Max should be disabled. If the cluster has been updated/changed then this may not be the case.
  16. Probably not too cheap. You may be able to get keys from another source but only Ford can program extra keys to the C-Max. The customer learning feature in not on this vehicle.
  17. Unfortunately the dealers are not owned by Fords. If they were then i'm sure they could do something.!! I hope you can get it sorted by a compitent dealer soon. I have had dealings with some traders(not Fords) when I stayed in Harrogate and they were full of billy bull. I would rather someone told me the truth than fobbed me off. I know how you feel. Cross everything.
  18. I'd be surprised if it's a number of faults. The vechicle electrics are very complex nowdays and a loose connection could trigger the ECU's into thinking that there are many problems. The dealer should take stock of the fault codes and use their intelligence to diagnose the failure. Ignoring any that begin with U as these are network codes.
  19. "Not Configured" means that the radio has not been set up properly using the WDS tester. Basically the dealer needs to program the equalisation settings into the radio using a special service tool. These settings include left/right hand drive, number of speakers, cloth/leather trim. You will not get the best sound reproduction unless this is done. This should have been done before the vehicle left the production plant or whenever the new radio was installed. Your radio is not secure unless this is done.
  20. That's because your Autolamps are burgerd Nick!!! :|
  21. Nick, The HIDs only have Kv's during the start up phase. During normal operation the voltage across the lamp is regulated to about 80V. The flicker at start up is the GEM operating the low beam relays. Strange eh? PH.
