  1. I think the ones that say ford may be the optional ones for non st foci.
  2. Well here is the best picture of the seals that i could get. Sorry for the quality but only have a cameraphone. These are the replaced seals on my parents focus. I am not sure if they are really any different, however i never noticed the holes before, but never really took much notice either. Its about time fords started fixing these faults. (my parents car is now a year old and the windows still rattle) Dale
  3. Bean Counter You seem like you have had roughly the same experience as my parents. basically fords do not know what to do so they should be getting back to my parents this week to say what is happening. As for your chassis being twisted , i think that the dealers / fords may have just put all of the doors in wrong, but if you suspect a twisted chassis i would ask them to check it for you. Now its stopped raning i am off to take a pic of my parents "new style seals" to post them up on here so people can compare them, not that they are a lot of good. Dale
  4. smjohns - PM Sent I am not to sure on the difference. I cant remember whether the old seals had holes in them or not. If they did then there is not any noticeable difference. Good luck everyone with this problem, Dale
  5. The creaky windows were sorted in my parents car for all of 20 miles (again (after a 3 week stay in the dealers)) they replaced the top seals finnis numbers: 1343672, 1343673, 1343676 and 1343677. This is for a 5 door, but as the problem still exists they are not much good. Another trip to the dealers
  6. As Smjohns knows my parents car is currently in the garage having this problem fixed. This is the 3rd week the car has been in now for the new seals. alongside the other 3/4 weeks at christmas time. The garage believe they have fixed the problem and have ordered a set of seals and should be fitting them today. I will get the finis number and post it on here in a new topic. (5 door version of the seals) The seals they are replacing in my parents focus are the top bouncy seals , that are in the top of the door. The problem is that when you are moving the seals either bend in too much or not
  7. Nice, anyone got any pics? Wonder what extra standard kit it will have.
  8. When my warrenty ran out a company rang up (about 6 months alter and asked if i wanted to extend it) My parents have this as our family car. 1.6 100 PS 5 Door Zetec Climate And i have a facelfit zetec. Both great cars. Good Luck with your new car, Dale
  9. Rite , after looking at the seals i cannot see where they are modified atall, maybee it is an interanl part or the dealer just explained it wrong. We had the windows all out and sorted in January , along with all of the other rattles. Since early march the dreadded creaking has came back again , untill this week when the windows are nearly as bad again. Another trip abck to the dealer ...
  10. We fill up at shell/ esso ( get better fuel economy) and we stop on the second click , like how you are suposed to without any problems. Dale
  11. Sorry for sounding a bit thick, but what are 1 toutch indicators!!! Dale
  12. Ring Ford Customer Relations and have a right old moan! I sent them a stinking we-mail on behalf of my parents and this resulted in the car being in the garage for 3 weeks and given a courtesy car. All window rattles fixed, dash rattle fixed and other general rattles being sorted. We had a jingling noise on full lock, it was the power steering pump , that also got fixed.
  13. Yep happens everytime you open the boot in ran , or if you are washing the car. the solution is when it is wet to open the boot slowly to let the water run off and not into your boot. Dale
  14. I have noticed that when the wipers are on you can always hear the "timer" go click , click , click. Its really loud. Never seen the wipers on full blast though. Dale
  15. Yep , this is a major issue in the new focus. Basically you need new door/window seals fitted to your car and they also lube the rubber with something to make them stop rattling. It fixed my parents car ok! Here are a couple of posts about the seals that you may find usefull/interesting. http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight= http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight= Dale
  16. i dont know if this is what you mean but if you go on http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/foc_c ... s/-/-/-/-# and follow the links you should be able to find all of the information about the engines , along with other technical data. Dale
  17. Our focus has the same problem , at first it was 3 mins out and now it looses hours and minutes randomly, even after re-setting the clock with the engine on. A software fix should be in this month according to our dealers. dale
  18. The standard civics (except type r and possibly type s ) have never looked funky. The new civic looks auful anyway. Also the new astra is the only good looking astra that has ever existed. I think like xanadu said the car has grown up. I don't think you will get many drivers under the age of 20 driving the MKII where as there are quite a few that own the MKI. The standard equipment on the MKII is a lot better , boot is bigger and the zetec climate seats are very good. I think the MKII has a lot of modding potential also!
  19. If you press the air cn button whilst the airflow is directed to the screen (it lights up in the mkII as it comes on , unlike in the mkI) will this turn the aircon off? Dale
  20. orlorc MAKE the dealers change the seals. They have to as it is under warranty. I am sorry but i do not know the parts numbers of the seals. Maybee you could ask in the ask tezza section for the Finnis parts. Dale
  21. My dads focus has this fault and have ahd new window seals fitted. However there is still a knockign noise coming from the boot.
  22. As a car the MKII is a lot nicer car than the MKI. The seats are more comfier and the standard specification is a bit more generous. Also it is a bigger car and therefore has more room in it (includint the boot) Both of the cars seem roughly the same to drive. However the build quality is not what it is made out to be. My mark I facelift does not have endless trips to the dealer and a list of faults too big to mention but my dads MKII does. Dale
  23. Thought they were standard from day 1. (not sure on ash tray though as we dont have 1)
