  1. There is also a list in the handbook if you can't understand the sticker.
  2. Just looked in my service log book, and in the front/back whichever it was, it said the details about my car. The Reg number is right, the colour is right, the model is right, but the fuel type is wrong. According to my log book, i have a petrol 1.8, instead of a 1.8 TDCi, and to top it off, the code for my radio, which is in my radio handbook doesn't work. Now, what can i do to get that sorted? It's going in for a second service, the first one under my ownership. But all records, including the HPi checks that i did said that it was an oil burner. Can it be just as simple as just ask
  3. And here i was, thinking red was fastesttest. I personally think you're best off trying out a 2.0 petty and a 2.0 diesel. If you do a lot of miles, then think of the diesel over the petrol, but realistically, you need to try them both out.
  4. Exactly my thoughts there ^^^ Why get a 1.8, and then spend LOTS tuning it, when you could get a 2.0, forego some mods, then make a FASTER car when modding. i don't understand why people get small engined cars, then modify them to be as fast as the larger engined cars, and then pay more ££ for insurance than the larger engined car to start with.
  5. Pressed the hand brake button whilst pulling it up? Looks like just pushing the button in will release it.
  6. apart from the gearbox from the tdci will mean that you'll be rather slow from 0-60, but you'll be able to hit 60 in 1st!
  7. Nope. Apparently there isn't a facility to enable autolock on the mk2s. There is a way of just unlocking the drivers door alone, that's in the manual. It's a case of pushing the lock button to activate the central locking on the doors i'm afraid.
  8. :o, no pix? Good to hear that it'll be back on the road soon :D
  9. Nice motor, and a nice colour. How about a lower?and thought about? the blackened headlights that come on some models? How do you find the seats? I found that they're rather firm in the whizzpoppers i've been in. Looks tidy though ;)
  10. :( I was thinking of doing something like code:red to my tdci. Shame they only do the 1.6 & 2.0, i have the 1.8 :(
  11. Mine does similar. Every now and then, when coming to the end of my journey, it rests at 5mph it's normally halfway between 0 and 5mph though.
  12. All of it, but i really do like the quick clear windscreen.
  13. So i'm a bit paranoid of leaving my car when at uni sometimes. Have to leave it in some quite rough estates when i can't get a space near uni, and also where i work isn't the best area around. If i lived there, it's the highest risk post code on the insurance for premiums. I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket alarm fitted, a thatch 1 with interior sensors, as i currently just have a perimeter alarm as standard fitted. I know that it'll reduce my insurance too by about £100, as my home postcode is a group D. So what are the general prices of getting a thatch 1 fitted? And what are the go
  14. What size are the ST discs? Is it 300 or 320mm? I currently have the stock 300mm discs on my TDCI.
  15. Those cdti 150s are rapid. Much quicker than the 2.0 focus. They're the fastest astra about, bar the VXR iirc. Hope you enjoy your new car! I know when i test drove a 1.9 astra sports hatch it was really fun, but i didn't like the seats, or lack of spec and higher price. And £5500 is good, considering that it was smashed up a month back too!
  16. When i bought my car, it had a massive scratch below the TDCi badge on the boot. When i collected it, it looked like it'd never been there (the scratch that is). But i bought mine from a FORD dealer. If they don't sort the scratch out to a satisfactory condition, refuse payment until it's done.
  17. Check to see if the trim inside is wet. Sounds to me, that you have a leak somewhere! I don't get that problem at all, it's only light condensation i get, and generally only on the outside.
  18. Why change discs and pads at the same time? One set of discs should see at least two sets of pads. My old car saw 3 sets of pads before new discs were needed.
  19. Heyyyy... they're quite smart, may have to get some :). Cheers bud :D
  20. Mmmm... Now there's something! I've been looking for some sill protectors for a while. Don't like the 'focus' ones on fordpartsuk, but those lockwood ones look quite smart! Any chance of a pic of them on your motor at some point? I may have to buy them!
  21. I get that sometimes also. All i do, is slam it into neutral, let go of the clutch, depress again, and it'll just slide in dead easy.
  22. Kick panel out from the left of the clutch, and you SHOULD be able to push it out. Mine just slid out really quickly and easily.
