  5. hi. i have a 1.6tdci and let me tell you it has plenty of grunt ( even with 3 grown up kids in the back) if you are worried go for the 2.0tdci, i have heard they really motor. they are quiet and drive superb, took a Picasso on a test drive before i bought the max and it wasnt a patch on it. i have had a few small problems with it in the past 6 months but nothing much and my dealer sorted them out without any quibbles under warranty. i would recommend it to anyone loz
  6. i have a 1.6tdci. this was my first ever deisel and only bought it after the ford salesman encouraged me to have a test drive in one. i originally asked about the 1.8 petrol but he said i would be 'supprised' by the new breed of diesels, and i was! the engine is very quiet and smooth to drive and i recieve 45-50 to the gallon around town while getting 60+ on a run. the car can be a bit sluggish in first gear but i really dont find this a problem as once you are moving she accelerates well, god knows how quick the 2.0 is!! ive had 'maxine' for 4 months now and appart from the odd teething pro
  7. had my rear wiper done on 6th sept and they upgraded the software to 0424. had a few creaks from the doors but nothing too bad< is it still covered on the warranty after 12 months?? g
  8. no sign yet, think you might have been rumbled Dennis.ha ha. tell you what though, he has had 35 hits on the cmax one alone and has helpful tips for quite a few other cars.its like taking candy from a baby!
  9. sorry dont know about the disc number but sounds like their disk is out of date to me.might be best to ring ford directly and ask them about it. hope all goes well loz
  10. just had my recall done on monday and now my software is 0424 (was 0422 but while it was in asked tem to sort out the low fuel warning problem so must have updated it then)
  11. I'm thinkin of askin my dealer to supply and fit a set of 4 mudflaps next week. anyone have a idea of how much i will be looking at and could i get them elsewhere cheaper? i want good fitting ones, not like i bought in the 80's for my cortina where you had to cut them to the shape of your wheel arch with a pair of scissors!!
  12. nor does my 1.6 tdci 04 zetec. always thought it was a bit strange and was going to mention it to the dealer at my next visit ( which wont be long no doubt)!!!
  13. that does seem very poor mate, think it might be back to the dealers to see what they suggest. not sure but think i read somewhere on this forum that it could just be a software problem and can be updated easily, have a look around.
  14. wot mpg you gettin m8? ive got a 1.6 tdci 04plate and around town get about 43mpg. on my last single run of over 200 miles ( mainly dual carriageway) the trip com read 62 mpg. would like to think that that last figure was correct but have my doubts.
  15. hi bob, i'm the owner of a 1.6tdci and bought it from a ford direct garage. the prices they quoted were not the cheapest but they did give me a very good price on my trade-in (£900 more than citreon on a brand new picasso) and by the time they had given me some extras (mats &tank of deisel), they were very competitive.the 1.6tdci engine is very responsive and on my last long journey i got 62mpg (if the trip com is right)on average i seem to get more like 44mpg which i am more than happy with.when i purchased the car i was unsure about buying a deisel, let alone a 1.6, but even with my 3 k
  16. sorry to bring this subject up again but all what i have read on it has just made me more confused. seeing as you dont seem to be able to get them for c-max's, do galaxy ones fit? i emailed one company and they said the ones i needed were the fiesta's.also, do i need to change the bulbs from what i assume are clear, to orange and at what sort of cost?
  17. while we are on this subject, i sometimes have a very musty smell in the car some mornings. do you think it could be the pollen filter? also is it covered on the ford direct waranty and should it have been changed on the first service?
  18. must admit, never thought bulbs would be covered on the waranty anyway
  19. trouble is, more often than not, most people dont realize they have a broken brake light. ok, so the highway code says that you should check all lights etc daily but hands up who actually does??
  20. hi all, great forum! been browsing al these Q&A for a few weeks but now have one of my own. Bought a c-max from my local ford direct dealer about 2 months ago. after being in the garage for a new turbo pipe within 1 week of owning it and not getting it back for more than a week i have found a new problem. the drivers armrest will not adjust, it seems the ratchet has broken. i have read on this forum that all the interior parts are only under warrenty for one year. as 1 year was up on the 7th of july, do you think it would be worth chasing this up as the armrest was broken before we bought
