lol, must admit ive never understood the interest in the lex light replacements, I thought they looked taky on the lexus and even worse on the boyracer escorts etc

so Im guessin thats a no then ;)

my fav is kids in the back, dvd screen flipped down and total silence, it almost pains me to turn the ignition off at the end of a journey....wots the legal standpoint for leavin the kids in the car overnight...id check every hour or so ;)

wots the effect on insurance, effectively u r making a modification to ur car which invalidates ur insurance unless u inform them. not tryin to be an * * * * just interested in lowerin my max without pissin off the wife

I know there are angel eye replacement headlights for the focus but I am looking for a version to fit the cmax. I know its a longshot but if anyone has seen any could you let me know, cheers fellas

I have the roof mounted DVD and I will say its the single best purchase as part of a car you can make if u have kids, simple as. My two love it, even on short journeys they are completely silent and I can concentrate on driving. A friend recently bought an aftermarket one where u get 2 screens that hang over the front seats for his cmax, while this is not as sucure I would add his kids cannot touch or get near the screens while in seatbelts, the front seats are out of reach, however it interfers with using the trays. He did look at roof mounting an after market version but found it somewhat

On my first cmax, a panther black ghia I had the windows tinted, they used film, a very dark one on the rear half of the car and a legal tint on the front half of the car (exc windscreen), looked very nice. Im now on my 3rd cmax, an ink blue ghia which has privacy glass, which as stated above is tinted glass and not a film, while it is nowhere as near as dark as the tints I had b4 I prefer it, I had nothing but trouble with the film, kept peeling on the front windows. The chap who did it was highly recommended and he couldnt understand what was doing it.

I bout a small brush to clean my alloys, kinda hard to explain but its like an oversized pipecleaner bent back on itself backinto the handle, bout 2cm wide with the bristles, firm enuff to get all the crap off the wheels on even the smallest gaps, bout it from halfords for a couple of quid

aint that the truth m8, although it makes u wonder if they really are gentle too skin, apologies for goin off-topic ;)

The EPB is the fix that stops the annoying Electrnic Parkin Brake alert which tells u theres a possible problem when in reality there is not one

I found a lot of noise, creaks and rattles from the boot area but once I disposed of the wifes body they were sorted ;) (and yes im not brave or stupid enuff to tell her I said this)

I got replacements direct from my local ford dealer for £25, but agree that it was a little steep, let us know how u get on

simple really, dont waste money on a new cmax, get a second hand one from ford direct, I recently grabbed a 04 1.6TDCi ghia with cream leather and roof dvd player for 12k, had 6k on the clock and in perfect condition. This is my 3rd cmax, and I think they are very good cars, specially if u have kids

how did u work that one out, I have the 1.6TDCi and it looks identicle to the one in the photo, just wondered

I have the 1.6TDCI ghia in the dark blue with the cream leather and the roof mounted DVD, its oustanding. This is my 3rd CMAX (I get bored quick) and the leather is brilliant, havin kids the leather has come into its own, just a quick wipedown, very comfortable. As for the roof mounted DVD player, mine plays everything I throw at it in the way of Region 2, VCD, SVCD, MP3 etc, as for my region 1 discs, I have had to make 'backups' as I have been unable to remove the region lock on the DVD player

what about looking for a ghia write-off and purchasin the whole inside door enclosure from a scrappers, some boy racer who borrowed his dads cmax has got to have spanked it at some point ;)

Global close, if u mean windows all u have to do is when u lock it usin the remote u press it again and hold it for 2 or 3 secs, granted I have the ghia but I would imagine its a relitively standard thing

Im confused, isnt ur engine under the bonnet/hood, so where does a cover come into it, do u sit on a chair infront of ur car staring at the engine, could be time to consider life 'outside the box' ;)

just pop onto the ford site and search in the used car section, covers just about all the ford direct cars, we grabbed our 1.6TDCi that way, took a drive to Coalville (that dealership pops up alot on here and mostly good) and got a bloody brilliant deal in my eyes, we have a ghia with DVD, f&r parkin sensors, full leather, privacy glass etc etc and it was a few days short of a year old, 7000 miles and mine for £12k so Im a happy man :P

Im on my 3rd Cmax, never had a problem, neither has the wife, I would consider looking at other environmental factors, poor posture, bad seating at work etc etc. Dont take this as a dig, not intended that way but the car companies do spend a shed load of cash on ergonomics, they build for the general/average rather than for the individual. I can understand where u r coming from, compared to ur other previous cars the cmax has a very different seating postion, much more verticle than the slouch that u can have in cars such as the focus. lol, that would be why BMW tried to charge me £955 to repaint 2 panels to get a colour match, problem was the scratch was 3 inches long and only just went on to the second panel, * * * * :twisted:

keep in mind the dvd player is actualy an oem version of a commercially available product which is sold in the US. I have alot of experience unlocking regions on players havin done a great many over the years, however this one has got me well and truly stumped, Im now trying to find the engineer code to see if it can be unlocked that way

well ive been diggin for a couple of weeks and no joy, my answer is to backup my dvds and remove the region, this has 2 benefits, the kids wont scratch the crap out of my originals and I can now play my region 1 films in my cmax. Sure legally this suxs but I do own the originals so they can * * * * all they want :mrgreen:

tbh they look very much like the ones already on the cmax
