  1. I agree, the coloured grill makes the front look very 'lx-ish' or even worse 'studio-ish' The Chrome sets off the front end nicely. Pete
  2. Yes, The sports suspension is only fitted on the Zetec Climate as Standard. It is an option available on the Titanium. I have a Zetec Climate and regularly drive a LX at work (which like the Ghia and standard Titanium has the normal suspension). The differance between the Sports and standard suspension set up is quite noticeable. The sports suspension being a lot firmer ride. However the normal suspension is quite adequate but is definitely softer. The ST also has a 'unique sports suspension' set up specifically for the ST. Pete
  3. Yes, as said above, it is the replacement for the LX and Sport variants. It is basically like the former LX but with Fog lamps on the front and one or two other bits as mentioned in the posts above. I was chatting with the sales guy at Polar Ford and he said it has been introduced to standardise the trim levels of all Ford Cars across the range, ie: Studio, Style, Zetec, Ghia, Titanium. Pete
  4. Well, its got a port that the Ford garage plugs a laptop into (me not being of the technical kind!!). It is on the top side of the cubby hole, bottom right of the steering wheel. Pete
  5. Well, for the second time, I had a new gear stick fitted to my Mk2 2.0 Focus Automatic by Polar Ford last week. The problem has been it working loose and eventually coming off in my hand. Twice Polar have had to order new parts and fit the damn thing. Lo and behold, the same thing has just happened again today. The gearstick worked itself loose, the screw popped out and I was left holding it in my hand. The internnals of the stick are on a spring which then shoot out and go under the seats or, as happened last time, down the air vent. Now, I use the gearstick a lot because I usually d
  6. I must admit, having a Mk2 Focus 2.0 Auto, which I mainly drive in 'clutchless manual' mode, that having the gear number selected shown within the dash display is really helpful. If they can do this for the Automatics, I cannot see why they did not put the same sort of thing on the manual models, but then again, like most things it is probably down to costs. Pete
  7. I thought, given the service intervals, that its service would be due at 37.5k miles as opposed to 35k??
  8. Will this new Focus (the one in Auto Express) be known as the Mk 2.5 Focus or the Mk3 Focus? (it seems to have been referred to as both in this thread!). Just so I don't get confused (which is easily done!!). Cheers Pete
  9. Originally it was just the Zetec/Zetec Climates that had the 'smoked' headlights, but it seems this has now been extended to include the Titanium's and ST's as well. All other models should have the standard 'silver' headlights, but of course some people have modded their cars and switched to the 'smoked' ones. Pete
  10. I queried this ages ago. see: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... ght=dimmer It seems to be down to luck wether you got one or not!! Pete
  11. I think it has been out for a while now, well it has been on the Ford Website for quite a while anyway and someone where I work has had theirs for ages. As Ford have now deleted the Sport (and LX) from the Focus range the Sport S could well go the same way. They will probably introduce a new limited edition version of the new 'Style' eventually to replace it It's not as good as a Zetec Climate anyway!! Pete
  12. Hi, On a top spec Titanium (with lots of options) that a mate has, the buttons are laid out as follows: 1. Heated Front Seats. 2. Heated Front Screen 3. Heated Rear Screen 4. ESP System ON/Off Pete
  13. Standard Perimiter Alarm fitted to my Zetec Climate. Pete
  14. The Ford dealer changed mine as part of the cars service. Sorry, I have no idea how they changed it. Pete
  15. yes received it. its yours. Can you pm me your address and I will post it t you. Pete
  16. I have just realised that for some reason I seem to have two owner handbooks for my 2005 Mk2 Focus. These are the white booklets entitled 'Owners Guide Ford Focus'. (Not the Black cover or the Audio guide or Service book - just the owner handbook). So, if anyone is missing one and would like my spare, please PM me your details and I will send it to you for free. The condition of the booklet is as new. Pete
  17. On the Ford website, all the trim levels are still shown on: http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/foc ... -/-/726466 however, if you use the car configurator and specifications bit some disappear, so god knows what is going on! Pete
  18. A pity the automatic doesn't show the gear selected, instead of just the selected mode (P,N,R,D). :-( It does show the gear number selected (ie 1,2,3,4) if you use the Auto box in 'clutchless manual' mode. Pete
  19. If you haven't solved this already, have you got a sat-nav? You can compare your speedo reading with the sat nav reading to see how accurate your speedo is. Pete
  20. Hi, I have a Mk2 Zetec Climate, but at work drive a Mk2 LX which has the 'standard' suspension. The differance is quite noticeable, especially after jumping out of mine into the work car. There is a lot less 'roll' on the Zetec but it does pick up the bumps more. Pete
  21. Yorkie, It depends what engine you have fitted. If you have a 1.8 or 2.0 Petrol or a Diesel, it is fitted with the Electric-Hydraulic steering which in conjunction with the 'Message Centre' allows the steering 'weight' to be adjusted. The 1.4 and 1.6 petrols (100 and 115ps) are fitted only with a hydraulic steering mechanism which cannot be adjusted. This thread explains it a bit better: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... chydraulic Pete
  22. Nope. It only alters the 'weight' of the steering. Pete (fellow Mk2 Zetec Owner)
  23. Re the adjustable steering modes, I cut and pasted this from another thread: ''The 'adjustable steering modes' feature is fitted on Mk2 Focus's that have the Electric-Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering (as oposed to the non electric, hydraulic power steering). This Electric-Hydraulic system is fitted on cars with either the 1.8 or 2.0 Petrol engines and the Diesels. You also need the message centre fitted to adjust the modes.'' Pete
  24. I didn't realise the Sport came with the perimiter alarm as standard, although I did miss off the trip computer!! Anyway, I just rechecked the Ford website and it appears they have already dropped the LX from the line up (or at least renamed it as 'Style). It now comes with front fogs and coloured body mouldings apparantly. http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/-/-/-/3/449745 That is, until you delve deeper into the Ford site and it appears again!! Pete
  25. Ah, Thanks guys, all has become clear!!! Pete
