  1. Yep Kevin is right - once its locked, its locked. Suspect it may be possible to secrete a discrete boot release somewhere if the worst does happen.
  2. hmmmm....now thats more like it. How much was it Simon and do you have a pic knocking around - I have a vague recollection of a pipe each side.
  3. Just wondering if anyone had fitted a new exhaust in whatever capacity to their MK2? Recently fitted an MS designs trim to mine, but I'm still undecided as to whether I like it. Willl probably look a lot better once the car is dropped, but interested to see what others have done, as I may have to have something else fitted if it doesnt grow on me :)
  4. M8 could you get a pic of the bit you're replacing, cos that still seems far too high to me. My covers cost me about £5.00 each with a discount. Tezza quoted the following - "Mirror Covers come black @ £10.23 or painted @ £34.84 each " I must be thinking of the wrong bit if it really will cost you that much
  5. Think there is some confusion here, the rear cover simply clips in, and costs naff all to replace. Ford do them ready coded for most colours. Probably cheaper to grab the unpainted variants and a £12 tin of paint :)
  6. If its plain old black - tis about a fiver from Ford Colours come mostly pre-sprayed for 25 squids ish, again from Ford.
  7. No problem - pretty difficult to interpret emotion on a forum. Personally the only criticism I have of my own focus, is the noise above 60mph. A bit of extra deadening wouldnt have gone a miss. It did seem a tad sluggish when I first drove it, but having driven a Zetec S for so long, my expectations were misdirected. Anyway hope yours regains its pleasure factor ASAP :)
  8. ..and I'm a lumberjack....but I havent used every chainsaw ever manufactured :D
  9. ummm...just detailing my experiences - no offence intended :)
  10. I have found the engine to be great, but this does rely on pretty accurate gear changes, with revs dabbed a touch higher at each change.
  11. As titled really - I am looking for a pic of the air vents fitted to the ghia. want to see if they differ against mine. Thanks :)
  12. Wish I wasnt saving for an engagment ring :(
  13. Not positive - but pretty sure the US focus has a different dash and as such the mountings are probably located in different places :( Thanks for the reply though :)
  14. Has anyone come across, or seen a modification, where a single din HU sits in the centre of a fascia? i.e. Rather than having the HU at the top or bottom. Fitted a JVC KD-AVX1 in my MK3 tonight, and whilst it sounds amazing, it protrudes from the dash, and I cant help thinking it would be better being centred in the fascia.
  15. Yes its easy - but take your time. If its the same setup as the front doors, pop the bottom half of the grab handle off, and remove the two bolts. Using a trim removal tool or similar, lever the door card away from the door starting at the bottom. Those clips are a bit tight, but should pop out. May be worth having a bag of replacement clips on standby in case you damage any.
  16. You can pick them up from ford parts cheap enough. If it was colour coded then the price goes up quite a bit, but otherwise they are about a fiver each.
  17. Good preparation is also imperative. Megs Gold Class, and an Aqua-blade give a great canvas. :)
  18. May be wrong - but think they were SAK-1517
  19. Adaptors available from autoleads, but better to fabricate your own if possible. 17cm speakers will slot in with adaptors. The focus specific ones are 13cm afaik, but I'm fairly sure the mondeo adapters were the ones I ended up with. The only way I have seen of getting new speaker cable into the doors is to drill them. There seems to be a distinct lack of entry points...well none as you know.:(
  20. Nope, but definitely looks like a viable and less drastic option to drilling your rear bumper. Would be nice to dig up some real life reviews to determine if it really is that straight forward.
  21. Centred just below the rear brake light and down a bit to avoid being hidden by the spoiler.
  22. Check With Tezza Sir, fairly certain my post is still floating around somewhere with the necessary codes too. Edit : http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... highlight=
  23. The paintwork in the 'what the eye cant see' zones on mine are naff. Orange peel everywhere, but as I say its only what the eye can't see.
  24. Could you get some pricing together for us mod hungry MK3 owners ?
