  1. Mines a mixture of Motorway, Country B Roads and London driving but I never thrash the car. Bit like an old codger really.
  2. Getting a consistant 38MPG on each tankfull now with a 1.6 115 with 1300 recorded miles. Haven't had any of the problems reported on here only a piece of plastic broken under the front of the car which I didn't do and which the dealer is going to renew under warranty when I take it for the 1500 mile courtesy check.
  3. You can buy the colourless thin tubing from most tropical fish shops. It's used for pumping air into the water.
  4. Yes, this has annoyed me. What about a piece of black round flexible electrical cable of a suitable diameter like is found on home appliances. This is not hollow so should keep even more water out. Haven't done it myself but just a thought.
  5. Just finished my 2nd tankfull. Forgeting the fuel computer and measuring what I've actually used over 3 weeks on the tankfull, I am still getting 35 MPG. Most of that is town driving. Quite pleased with that!
  6. Obviously a lot depends on where you live, how old you are, claims and convictions if any, NCB etc etc. Mine comes out at between £300 and £370 depending on company but I live in London which is a "high risk" area, so I suppose it's not to bad. But back to my original issue. I've just tried an on-line quote with Churchills and again my registration returned a "Focus 1.6 Zetec 98 on", so I changed it using the drop down list. In the list they have a "Focus Ti-VCT Zetec Climate 5dr" which quotes me at £298. I then change the model to a " Focus 115 Zetec 5dr" which then quoted me at £318.
  7. smeems Yes, tried More Than and their site gives almost the correct car, (no Ti-VCT), C&P: FORD FOCUS ZETEC CLIMATE 5dr Standard 2006 plenty of others didn't get close though. Trouble is I've now done so many I can't remember who got it right and who got it wrong. Didn't think much of the More Than quote though.
  8. Has anybody done any on-line Insurance quotes. I've tried a lot of sites and when I enter my registration the system doesn't understand what car I'm specifying. I've checked my registration on the DVLA sytem and they have the correct info there (as far as it goes). http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPor ... =directgov (vehicle enquiry) Mine is a Focus 1.6, Zetec Climate Ti-VCT, 115bhp, 5dr Hatch. All I keep getting back from on-line insurance quotes is a Focus 1.6 Zetec 98 on - which is obviously wrong and gives me the wrong quote till I manually change the model, and then it's dearer.
  9. How are they fixed. Perhaps some well mixed Araldite will help!
  10. Never touched the battery in my Sierra. First one lasted 5 years. Never touched the battery in my Mk 1 Focus. Had it 3.5 years and still going strong when I sold it. I'd be amazed if you were supposed to touch the one in the Mk2! :x
  11. I'm not sure of the difference, perhaps I used the wrong term "dealer warranty" Fords call it Ford Protect. Years 2 and 3 does not include breakdown cover which is included in the first year. Basically a new Ford has a 3 year no cost warranty from date of registration at any Ford Main Dealer no matter who owns the car. eg. 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc owners.
  12. Yes, you can take out a paid for extended warranty but that covers servicing and courtesy car as well as faults. If you don't take out the paid for extended warranty then you get a no cost warranty which is 1 year manufacturers warranty plus a further 2 years dealer warranty = 3years. Beware though, some things like brake and clutch linings are not covered at all and others like the trim are only covered for 1 year.

  14. Could be a dodgy connection in the remote, for instance the battery spring terminals may be a bit oxidised like TV remotes are sometimes and you have to wiggle the batteries to get it to work. Interesting occurence happened to my brother. His doorbell kept ringing and when he went to answer there was no-one there. This happened for weeks until one day he was outside and his neighbour came home, remote locked his car and my brothers door bell rang at the same time. Wireless doorbell of course, not sure what car it was though. :D
  15. They did register my car before I paid, or I think they did, but for some reason they wouldn't tax it before I paid
  16. Offered me £5,500 for my 52 plate Zetec, only had 16,500 on the clock. Didn't PX, my Son had it instead.
  17. Anybody know where the Pollen Filter is on the Mk2? On the Mk1 it was under the front windscreen trim on the nearside and when serviced the dealers would never fix it back properly. Wondering if it was the same place on Mk2 but the trim seems to be all one piece and looks like the wipers have got to come off to remove it. Also where are the so called cut outs at the Jacking points? I haven't got them on my car, suppose I will have to guess where they are. :?
  18. Think Fords have substituted the standard 1.8 for the 1.6 Ti-VCT 115 bhp.
  19. No Rattles! No colour match problem! No Faults! YET !! Made in Spain
  20. I know this thread is title Mudflaps for MS Kit but I'll give you the benefit of my experience with fitting the standard Ford Mk2 Mudflaps to the Mk2 car now I've done it. The Fronts In order to get at the wheel arch turn the steering the appropriate way for each mudflap. Remove the screw from under the sill and keep it to use in the rears. Remove the top screw. Use the new screw from the packet and fix the Mudflap to the bottom sill hole keeping the mudflap pushed into the wing. A bit awkward as the edge of the mudflap gets in the way but it is bendable. Then fix the top screw. Fina
  21. Yep. I've been getting that too. Never got it on my Mk1.5, why on this car. C'mon, someone must have a cure?
  22. Can't beat that. Oh! I sound like a car salesman 8)
  23. ?? £12,845 on there. I paid less than that new, from my local Main dealer.
