  1. 1. Crap Dealers who can't fix a fault first time. 2. Lies told by the Crap Dealer when they fail to fix it the first time. 3. Crap colour match (which Ford really need to get a grip of, but for some reason don't seem bothered) 4. Garbage courtesy cars they expect you to drive around in when yours is being fixed through no fault of your own. That said, MKII is, in my opinion a touch of class.
  2. Don't know but you could ask - they can only say no - or make something up saying it has an intermittent running fault (almost impossible to diagnose) which may force their hand.
  3. My 55 plate 2.0 Tdci went in for a new EGR valve and software update last week - it goes off within a couple of minutes now and the odometer text also blanks out.
  4. You won't find the bulb holders on a Sport as that is based on an LX. My late 2005 Zetec Climate only has the brackets - no holders or wiring - Ford has deleted them on builds after Sept 2005.
  5. Spanish Car - Moondust colour match was appalling on nearside door - made them repaint the whole side and still not perfect in bright sunlight.
  6. I also have a Sony 6 CD in my mkII Zetec Climate with a Parrot CK3100 kit fitted. I would recommend that before you install the microphone, swap it for a Nokia HFM-8 microphone (£4 on ebay) as it is way better than the crappy one supplied with the kit. You will have to swap the plugs over though, so a bit of soldering required. If you use adhesive velcro and stick the 'hook' side to the back of the Nokia microphone it will attach to the headlining at the top of the pillar trim without any permanant fixings required. p.s. The yellow wire on the Parrot loom will do the muting if you attach it
  7. Jennings Ford at Washington, Tyne & Wear - ST3 Silver 3 door, Full Leather
  8. Kevin, Nice choice for number 2 - bet your hoping the bumpers match better than your current one.
  9. Wait till it's done 10k - they do improve greatly as the miles pass by. Our is now far quicker, quiter and more economical. A panel K&N filter (part number 33-2886) will also improve the throttle resopnse and will make it more willing to rev harder - it's averaging 2 mpg more with it.
  10. Just had mine in last week for EGR fault and I asked them to change my rusty locking bolts under warranty which they did.
  11. Drivers side on Zetec also has a memory feature - Lift the handle and tilt the backrest forward until it clicks and THEN slide the whole seat forward. To regain the original position, slide the whole seat back until it stops then lift the handle and place the backrest back to its original position.
  12. Scootland, Your dead right, but what is more frustrating is that they are both Jennings Ford, guess which one will be getting my business in the future :?: - 1st service just around the corner.
  13. Went in today and they done it in 15 minutes flat - £25.
  14. Hope you got a courtesy car for the whole off road period from the insurance company...The're quick enough to make you cough up at the start of the policy.
  15. All 'orrible if you ask me !!
  16. Just rang another Ford dealer and they say they can do it in 1/2 hour - unbelievable? Going in on Wednesday afternoon and quoted £20.
  17. Mastertech, I have had my car to the dealers to reflash the ECU software for the EGR valve fault. As you suggested I asked them to configure my Sony headunit to the car (I left in the original Ford/Visteon unit) while they had the WDS connected. Upon collecting the car they said they could not do it and had never heard of doing it through WDS. I left without paying them for thr labour(3 hours they said they had spent on it) as the headunit was in exactly the same state as I left it. I will ring another dealer tomorrow morning to see if they know how to do it. On the EGR fault, they reckon F
  18. Andy, Sorry for causing any alarm, probably wont affect yours. If you read previous threads it will explain all - basically the first generation EGR valve was crap. Yours will be the new valve which is very reliable by all accounts - just released in past couple of months which involves an ECU software flash too. Symptoms are loss of power, stalling and hard to restart, no response to throttle input and rubbish fuel consumption. My dealer tells me they are fitting on average 2 a week at present and its a 7 hour job. Ours went in this afternoon for this fix. Still, it has not put me off t
  19. Great choice mate, you wont be disappointed especially as the miles rack up. Ours is 7 months and 9000 miles on and totally agree with TMD, once broken in they absolutely fly.(and its getting quicker, more economical and quieter by the week) p.s. Have you booked it in for a new EGR valve yet...? Enjoy.
  20. Just bought a brand new Sony 6006 which has not been fitted to any vehicle prior to mine but when I connect it up it does not ask for the keycode and when you switch the unit on it has an error message on the display "not configured". The clock is missing from the main display(only way to view it is press the menu button) and it takes ages for RDS data to gather the information required. When the ignition is turned off the clock and date data is lost but the VIN number is retained. The RDS option in the menu is also missing. Apart from that it works and sounds just fine. It's a 2.0 Tdci Zetec
  21. franko, If you look very, very carefully & closely at a clean Panther Black car in good light you will see that unlike a normal metalic that has silver flakes, Panther Black has blue, red and silver flakes in the paint which gives it a unique look amongst other blacks and an almost pearlescent look.
  22. Rik, This may be a little too late for you but the missus smashed our passenger mirror to pieces when she reversed out of the garage when only 8 days old. I bought a new mirror £55, elec and heated(unpainted) and fitted it myself, it's a complete piece of cake. Just remove the cover for the tweeter speaker and there is only 1 bolt to secure it to the door and 1 plug for the electrics. Luckily for us the only piece that survived was the painted cover.
  23. My Zetec Climate is a late 2005 and I got 2 remote keys with it. I also had a MK1 Focus with 1 remote and added another no problem.
  24. My Zetec Climate is a very late 2005 on a 55 plate and I only have the holes and can find no trace of the wiring for the bulb holders - even with a lot of the trim removed when fitting a Parrot bluetooth kit I still couldn't find it. Probably another case of cost cutting. Thanks Ford.
