  1. I did the same, except I used a bitumen type sealant. This was 18 months ago and it's still going strong.
  2. Yes there is ... http://www.directcarparts.co.uk/buy-car ... -8553.html
  3. Try http://www.brodit.com/?lang=E
  4. Mine only does it if the front wipers either are on, or have been on (including a quick one-off wipe) before you engage reverse.
  5. This refers to our '04 1.6TDCi Zetec ... 1. All the creaks, rattles and groans. 2. The easily water stained seats. 3. The way water dribbles down the sides of the rear hatch when you open it. 4. Replacing the !@#$% headlight bulbs :)
  6. How do you have your Front-Rear balance set on the stereo? Is it set so that the rear speakers are much queiter than the fronts? Just a thought ...
  7. I thought that procedure only worked if the appropriate option had already been set via the WDS. I remember when it was first posted here trying it on my car and it had absolutely no effect whatsoever.
  8. The front one is permanent, at least it is on my '04 TDCi Zetec. You can pull out the central 'core' of the socket (put your thumb in and pull upwards carefully) and there's an orange connector connecting the wires to the base of the socket. Maybe that's come loose?
  9. That definitely sounds like torque steer. I even get it in my 1.6 TDCi sometimes if I accelerate to hard in first or second. Is this your first diesel? If so, it can take a little time to get used to driving a front wheel drive car with that much low-down torque. Just take it a little easier in 1st and 2nd gear, and change up a little earlier than you would have done in a less powerful petrol car.
  10. I've had one on a car I owned once, can't remember which one, but it was next to useless, twitching about like a thing possessed, alternating between depressingly low figures when you were accelerating and "infinity and beyond" when you took your foot off the pedal on the flat, and hardly ever in the middle. I also found it quite dangerous, as if you were on an "economy drive" you spent more time looking at the damn meter than at the road, and I nearly came a cropper once because of it. What might be slightly more useful, IMHO would be a sliding average meter where you could change the avera
  11. Agreed. I love my C-Max, but there's no way on earth I'm ever going to consider something like the S-Max.
  12. Well, my PDA holder detaches from the mount simply by sliding it off, so all that's left visible in my car is this ... Which looks pretty much like a phone mount from a distance. I have to admit that I usually remove it and place it in one of those handy cubby holes in the floor rather than taking it with me, and thankfully haven't had anything nicked yet.
  13. I've got the same one, and am very happy with it. A better location for reducing potential glare on the screen IMHO. Can also post pictures if required.
  14. Mostly back roads, and I do a fair bit of overtaking as well :)
  15. Don't complain ... I'm lucky if I get below 7 l/100km (40mpg) in my 1.6 TDCi, but I don't really try that hard to, I must say, and most of my driving is on twisty back roads.
  16. OK, an update. It appears that whatever you set the volume to, it won't come on at anything higher than 15 (which is pretty damn loud IMHO!) when you switch it back on again. Got some very strange looks from the neighbours, I can tell you :)
  17. Well, I turned the radio up as far as I dared without annoying the neighbours and its till came back on at that volume. I didn't check the actual setting though. If I have time tomorrow, I may give it a go.
  18. Just to bump this one ... in my car ('04 1.6TDCi Zetec w/6000CD) the volume just comes back at the same level as it was when I switched it off. No software upgrades since I bought it, but it has had the RDS time 'fix'. My old Primera had a handy feature in that you could set a maximum volume for when you switch it back on again. That way, if you'd had the radio/CD turned up really high, and got into the car next morning you wouldn't be frightened out of your wits.
  19. I don't have one-shot close on my car ... is this just a Ghia thing, then?
  20. I've only tried the BP Ultima in my 1.6 TDCi, and subjectively it certainly did make some difference in noise levels and performance. Didn't take any notice of whether it affected fuel consumption though since it was a one off (I live in Ireland, and you can't get the stufff here).
  21. I'm still waiting for my replacement door seals. They ordered them last November !!!
  22. As an aside then, are other manufacturers who are also using the same PSA engines .. Peugeot, Volvo etc. having the same problems with the EGR valves?
  23. Here's the reply I got from them (with spelling and grammar errors corrected :) ) Seems like an odd setup to me!
  24. One thing I'm confused about here is this requirement for auto-levelling and headlamp washers I keep reading about. It seems all factory-fitted HID systems have these as standard, but none of the aftermarket sites selling kits mention it at all. Is this just an oversight on their part, or are there maybe different regs for factory-fitted vs. aftermarket installations? I've Googled the EU website till I'm blue in the face and can only find one regulation concerning gas-discharge lighting, and that makes no mention of this requirement. So, can anyone provide any conclusive evidence for these r
