  1. lol, autoexpress said that the MkII would come with semi auto paddleshift! I hope the ST comes with Powershift. That would be awesome, its a seriously good box
  2. I believe there wont ever be a 3 door MK3 focus. If a 3 door is released in a larger format then the fiesta i would imagine it to be like a hybrid between the Focus Coupe and the new capri concepts which appear on the front cover of autofiction every few months. the Fiesta and Ka are the only cars ford build which are available as a 3 door. The mk3 focus is simply too big to carry it off, and hasn't been designed to work as a 3 door. I may be proven wrong... and i'd certainly entertain the idea of a focus coupe...
  3. i think you'll find this is a mule wearing a regular focus shell and body panels. the finished product will look much sportier.... its been designed and engineered by the same guy who managed the mk1 RS
  4. silly exhaust! - everyone knows dual exit is waaay cooler. lets just hope the engine is as good as the previous hot focus's, it might help compensate for that fuel filler door... i mean flap.
  5. there will not be a 3 door (maybe in the same way they said there would be no Fiest ST, but hey presto!) The reasons for which are due to a global platform, and no requirement for a 3 door car of this size when the Fiesta is almost as big as the Mk1 focus these days.
  6. The ST is not in the dealers yet. I HAD heard that they would be in around September, but i've since heard they will be released in 2012... The question is, is that MY2012 which would make November feasable or is it actual 2012. - i can see why Ford are doing it. its a bit like the Fez ST - supply and demand.... eh Still at least they have committed to the Focus ST.
  7. lol maybe a kitkat (2 fingers) The back end and general side profilee is a total mess especially on the drivers side where the fuel filler cap sticks out like sore thumb! - i thought the Audi A5 was a design abortion, but the new focus is trying to be all things to all men and the result is a mass of wavy lines and angles. And yet again!!! - same as the Mk 2 and 2.5 it needs huge wheels to offset the massive expanse of metal between the rear side windows and the wheel arch it just looks weird and unbalanced.
  8. Yes. i'd stuggle to part with £10k for that thing.
  9. Without being too negative, I think your observation speaks volumes about the reception the MKIII has recevied. I know this happend with the MKII as well, but from memory this seems significantly worse
  10. went to view one yesterday. I was dissapointed with the cabin tbh, the plastics in the lower dash area are STILL hard 'lego' style plastic and the amount of re-used parts really stoood out. i.e. external door handles from mkII and heater controls from the same. The layout of the dash/controls is as good as ever, and the hand brake is even on the correct side!! - having said that its a swan neck handbrake ala SAAB so looks a bit pooh when its parked. headroom in the back was far less generous than my mkII. I can see this selling in vast numbers, however I think my days with ford focus's h
  11. We have the self park feature on our Golf. Its rather good.... when it works! Its hard to tell from the link that these will be standard features on all models. I remember (auto'fiction') reporting that the MKII focus would have paddle shift as standard on auto model. It's a real shame Ford think up all these good ideas and then implement them years after the competition have ploughed ahead!
  12. it sounds like they have taken cues from existing US spec fords. The colour chaning mood lighting was a feature on our 2011 Ford Edge we rented in the states and it was an nice addition. The quality of the cabin is on a par with 'prestige' brands imo. The cabin on this focus looks very impressive and may be enough of a pull to get me to buy another Ford (despite the exterior) if its good enough quality
  13. i'll definately take an ST for a drive, but I cant say the interior wows me. Lets hope there is plenty of kit as standard
  14. does the SD card have a brand name on it? - SanDisk for example? Bear in mind some of the cheaper unbranded ones are a lot slower to access data.
  15. get some pics up too, I wanna see where you are going to mount the screen/user interface
  16. what did you replace the wing badges with? - aussie inserts? I debadged my MKI and it looked great in Panther black. Cant bring myself to do it to the ST though....
  17. Its not just Ford though. Its the same set up on the Golf too
  18. Only if the dealer has ticked the 'paint inspection' box at every service. To be honest I'd just scrape out the rust and touch it in with some ford touch up paint
  19. Its always worth a try, but be prepard to cough up for a pro to do it if it goes wrong. I'd say you'll be more sucessful if you use proper spraying gear. The trouble with blowing over something with a rattle can, is they tend to spit.... not always mind, but you'll just get it looking good when all of a sudden it'll spit and ruin your hard work. Dont forget to use suitable dust traps and wet the garage floor to help minimise dust landing on your fresh paint. And less is more. Lots of thin coats is the secret to a good finish.
  20. Shell all the way for me. When ever i've tried super market fuel it just doesnt last as long. (less miles to a tank/gallon) Now i have the ST i use Shell V Power, but mainly so I get double shell points and a fancy loyalty card. V Power does make a difference, albeit marginal, but then in a standard car, you might experience the placebo effect.
  21. does anyone know if this works for the 3dr MkII?
  22. its called Theater lighting. philnorton are you saying the interior light doesnt shut off at all????
  23. i was told this had been deleted on the MKII due to safety concerns
  24. its usually 40,000 miles, but haynes quote 20,000 miles
