  1. tried it today on my Mk2 zetec climate, and all i got was SHIPPING MODE YES or NO. and now i cant even get that to come up, so i doesnt work on my car mate
  2. I know it worked with the MK1, but does it work with the MK2 ? :)
  3. Sorry if i have missed this one, but whats the digital display trick on the MK2 and how do you do it
  4. have u got any pics of the spoiler on the car ZETECm4plm that you can put up.
  5. Noticed over the last few weeks that whilst driving, dont seem as bright as they used too, and to confirm my theory, the enemy also said it to me yesterday. so has anyone had similar experience, And has anyone upgraded the headlamp bulbs in the MK2 focus yet. and will upgrading the lamps cause any unwanted problems with the headlamp units themselves in terms of the heat and the plastic lenses etc etc :? :? :?
  6. worth noting the RPMS at certain speeds to, not sure about the 2L but my 1.8 HE petrol has a really high final ratio, which means 3250 rpm @ 70mph. and never get more than 36mpg, as per the fuelcom thing. The car really needs a 6th gear
  7. my car has the colour coded standard spoiler, already, but would like the ST one to make it look a tad different from the norm, But if the sealant is gonna create probs, i may well leave it, thanks for the tip!!!
  8. can chaps post a couple of pics, im gonna do mine asap, and want to see the difference they make
  9. MY original contisports wore out really quick too, so i put these on my1.8 petrol focus last month as a balance between cost and brand and find them every bit as good as the contis! http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/ts/search ... 55017AV5WX
  10. Thats FORD for you, they have added some good features to the MK2, but what they dont tell you, is that they took some original features away, such as auto door locking above 10mph, dash boot switch and rear passenger lighter socket. Its all built to a price. Dont forget the ASTRA has one big problem, ITS A whizzpopper !!!!!
  11. Just finished of the tankful of fuel i added REDEX to, and i dont know if its me, but im sure the engine is running sweeter, Will be putting this in the fuel every 10k or so. thanks for the advice chaps
  12. Thanks for that mate, I really think with a final drive ratio this high, its crying out for a 6th Gear
  13. thanks mate, my car is geared really high, ie a high final drive ratio, even higher than my XR3i, it really needs a 6 speed box, at motorway speeds, the rpms are too high in my opinion, although there is a good side, it pulls like a frieght train above 70 rpm, as its bang in the power band.
  14. Too my air filter out on sunday on my 07 1.8 duratec HE and that is a panel type, By the way adam, is your g/box the same ratio as mine, ie round about 3300 rpm at 70mph. by the way my car never gets above 35mpg whatever way we drive it
  15. Took my plugs out today, just to check them, and they came out ok, but the threads were very "dry" for want of a better word. What sort of grease/lube would you use to make sure they dont get corroded to the head threads. i thought of a slight smear of coppaslip what tdo you guys think
  16. adam, is your engine the Duratec HE 1.8..............if so whats your average MPG and what rpm is the egnine doing at 70mph,
  17. Dont forget any rattles and adjustments are only covered under the warranty for a month, so report anything your not happy with ASAP!!! even of they font fix it the first time, as long as its been reported before that time they should still sort it (assuming your picking a brand new one that is)
  18. My 07 1.8 Duratec has an engine cover that pops onto some rounded brackets. And this gets a water mark on it under where the washer jet sits, so id imagine without the cover, the same would happen. Havnt heard of any mod though. Have you tried your local dealer service center............they will be able to check for you
  19. just about to replace my Conti Sp2's on the front of my 1.8 zetec, they only lasted 18k, thats with no daft driving so i wont be getting the same again. Best price i can find for your SP3's is £137 each all in at TYRESHOPPER,. But im going for the AVON AV ZV5 93W XL, mainly for the price, but still a good brand , and that includes fitting at my local NATIONAL tyre depot. http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk
  20. My 07 1,8 duratec HE is just turning onto 19,000 miles. Do you chaps recommend a fuel system type cleaner to tun through it.........and if so whats the best one to use. Obviosuley the car has a CAT so will it be affected by using such a product, The reason im after your opinions is that I have been reading a test comparing the use of BP ultimate petrol and standard BP unleaded, ANd if the pictures are to be beleived, it makes such a difference, i was supried how dirty the head/valves were using the standard stuff. But rather than spending so much on the fuel, i was thinking of using a fuel add
  21. what they tell you and what they actually do are two very different things! Take the Head technician (not a service receptionist) out with you and show him all the faults and make sure you tell them everything you want sorting, make a note yourself too, so that when or if you have to take it further, you have a record. They will get it right mate, but as with all ford dealers, it may take a bit of persuading!
  22. be careful when repoting new rattles and the like to ford, i posted this a while ago http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... highlight=
  23. Cheers mate, i still think mine is in the A pillar but ill be dammed if i can see where, FORDs had it for a day on friday, and as usual its didnt rattle for them....and again as usual it started rattling on the way home!
  24. has anyone removed a MK2 doorcard, and if so how easy is it. Trying to source a rattle , I think its about time they put out a HAYNES book of lies on the MK2. so i emailed haynes and they say they have no plans at present!!!!
  25. Most good garages will mask thoroughly before spraying mate, but there is always a chance of errors, especially if the guys are on bonus or somthing, I have seen so called prisitine FORD DIRECT cars that have dodgy paint jobs, so its always best to keep on your guard and dont be afriad to say somthing if your not happy, i made a big local bodyshop do the rear quarter on my XR3i three times before i accepted it. Saying that the original paint job on our brand new focus isnt as good as i expected. Very heavy orange peel,
