  1. MK2 keys with the TI RFID are not user programmable.
  2. Bald people should not get sunroofs.
  3. Young children in car seats have an unfortunate tendency to throw up unexpectedly. This is normal. You may want to choose a suitable upholstery option.
  4. Well, youre certainly finding some interesting stuff. I guess that LHD and RHD lamps are different. His Deutsch is very idiomatic, so that may account for the poor translation. He is just giving his selling pitch, standard German guarantee bumpf and some vague contact details.
  5. I disagree with other posters. 5 doors are mandatory for kids. They get older and more truculent, and it is easier to frogmarch them in through a rear car door entrance. My son is 29, has his own RS, and is still trouble.
  6. I agree badge quality is poor. Have had to replace rear one...water entered it. Replacement badges have lots of scratching. Front one may be integral with grille...
  7. I drive mine carefully at low revs for 150 000 miles or 20 years, whichever comes first. Reason: low total cost of ownership.
  8. You can buy them from Germany now - the guy says so. They seem rather cheap...cheaper than OEM lights, and therefore could be naff. And they are truly ugly IMHO. Would go nicely with Dub PimpStar wheels.
  9. AFAIK the engines called Duratec in the C307 Focus are all Zetec derivatives. Duratec is only used as a branding exercise. Wikipedia has very informative entries on Ford Engines worldwide. To find my Duratec VCT was in fact a Zetec-SE annoyed me, even though it is an excellent engine. There may be a Trade Descriptions issue here.
  10. Thanks. Very helpful. I'll start slimming now to change the pollen filter in August.
  11. I thought it was every major and minor service. Now I am being told differently. What is the answer?
  12. Rallye Sports comment about servibing schedules interests me. When I got a printout of major and minor service items last August, the pollen filter was in both. Has this changed? I have now had a chance to look in the car in good light and can see the tiny filter door. Anyone with a bit of girth will never be able to wedge themselves in a position to change the filter.
  13. http://www.mann-hummel.com/mf_prodkata_ ... ow4IQt.pdf Thank you ioa pol. That is what I need. It shows everything I see in the LH footwell and makes sense of what others said.
  14. Cannot find piollen filter housing. Is its cover part of the central console? I see a possibility there.
  15. Thanks. That is incredibly useful info. Will look again behind carpet.
  16. Checked today while I had glovebox out...pollen filter is not behind fusebox. Back to wicked clips on scuttle..
  17. I am sure you havent. I have. Varta maintenance free batteries are vented, and you can lose solute in hot weather. As this is my first Ford for 20 plus tears, I hope you are right.
  18. You might try spreading your ebay net across the EU. I got a so-so radio from a UK seller, and a superb one from a German seller.
  19. I have found little of use in the user manual. You are right, that the accumulator is maintenance free and has caps. I am covering the situation where the electrolyte depletes. Hopefully this will not happen. GM style Calcium-gel units - my son has one in his RS - are my favourite.
  20. Look in the electrical and ICE sections for the wiring.
  21. The 3 door version of the UK Sport hasd a rear badge saying Sport. The 5 door petrol does not, but the 5 door Diesel does. In the UK, the headlamps are called Black Bezel and No Black Bezel. The Sport in the UK is a modified Trend/LX and comes with No Bleck Bezel headlamps. Both headlamp designs are the same price.
  22. Because my car came without components properly fitted around the accumulator, I know that you can remove the cover and then release the terminals -if you have your radio code to hand - and then remove the battery firewall front by pulling it up, You can then move the accumulator. No, it does not make much sense. I had a Golf pickup with the same type of maintenance-free battery. I ran the accumulator to 150 000 miles by topping it up. You need a 2p coin to undo the cell screws.
  23. I have a coimbi high roof 1.6 115PS Sport. The year code is 5. The month code is 5. The car was purchased by me in August, Ichecked dates on components, and the headlamps are dated June 2005. Can anyone interpret the month cose, which differs from those on this site?
  24. Aha. I was looking in the wrong place probably. The fuse box area sounds likely.
