  1. i'll upload some pics, but just changed my car last week, MKII Ghia has the 50% Philips, my new MKII.5 Titanium just got 80% Philips fitted today. be damned if i can pull the long plastic strip to get the front side lights out, tried pliers as well......:(
  2. just found out, according to the manual, 3.3 litres is the volume the washer tank takes.
  3. some seem to have it....odd, I am looking to get a 58 Titanium TDCi, and it has it according to the dealer, as well as the tyre deflate sensor. The MKII screen wash units hold 3 litres i believe, i just pre-mix some Holts stuff, found the Halfords stuff left white film everywhere. usually sits under the offside front wheel, swapping the bottle is hard, getting the sensor hooked up will be another challenge.
  4. possible it might have been jarred, an indeed my require some minor attention -- worth telling the garage, so they can pay special attention. does the alloy need any repair??
  5. yep can't beat the Philips bulbs, got them all round except main beam (hate fiddling with the AFS system). http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/product_detail.asp?prod=81 for good dipped lights.
  6. get the EBC Green pads from Rude Racing, just a little bit more than the std Ford ones, they work better and much less dust. You also get FFOC discount. Contact Karl for price (mine were priced at £68 i think), as the site does not list EBC shoes for MK2 non-ST yet. https://www.ruderacing.co.uk/contact_us ... 9qelpj0ck6
  7. either fuse as said or the connections under the screen skirting at the bottom of the window, 2 connectors if i recall, one on either side. i had an issue with my skirting/cover after an accident repair to the bonnet, that was letting water run down under the glass, fortunately it was caught and the contacts cleaned - windscreen still working 2 years after repair. for your sake, i hope its the fuse, the front windscreen is over £650 to replace if its heated.
  8. same with my 5 door Ghia, and only if you go over 28 mph does it trigger if i recall the manual correctly. sometimes the person in passenger seat doesn't sit on the sensor correctly, had this with the father in law recently, but always works with the wife.....
  9. usually all your filters and fluids would be changed, like coolant, power steering, oil etc....also fuel, air (unless you have a K&N or similar fitted) and oil filters. likely that spark plugs would be changed, not sure about timing belt. brakes would also be checked to make sure they are ok, normally you can tell when they need replaced or tightened - hand-brake slack etc. is your MOT due??
  10. no the 6000 doesn't, only the ones with Sony fitted can play MP3 discs. You can get a good JVC unit from Halfords for around £100 inc fitting, i got one a few years back for my Escort, and now it resides in my MK2, in place of a 6000 unit, i just bought the removal keys (4 of them) and the JVC stalk column link wire to fit to car (oh an a DIN cover, as the hole is a double DIN and std unit is only single). I use CD/RW discs in my unit.
  11. i normally stick with the Bosch ones, as they come as a matched pair for the MK2.
  12. turned out to the the bulb holder contacts needed cleaned. once re-assembled, all the indicator lights started working fine.
  13. as posted by myself the other day - http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=222481 i managed to get up early today to check the rear right light cluster (working late each night means its dark). Took out the silver Philips bulb i had in, and re-fitted the original indicator bulb that came with the car (tried 2 bulbs actually), no joy, still rapid indicator flashes on front and side & dashboard. Left indicator fine. Ruling out light cluster fault, as rear right side lights, and brake lights work, just not the indicator -- assuming the flashing is due to the lack of load on
  14. some links that i looked at, not sure if there are any near you: http://www.supertuning.co.uk/ford-focus ... s-75.shtml http://www.fordcartuning.co.uk/ http://www.evolutionchips.co.uk/index.html http://codered-chiptuning.de/uk/shop/in ... f13929fa31
  15. i have the std K&N air filter fitted for the last few years, great investment, got mine from ESP Design (now Rude Racing) with FFOC membership discount, and use the recharge kit once per year to wash and clean it. Noticed improvement in the car when you plant your foot, and you would be amazed at the rubbish collected at the bottom of the air intake, that gets stopped going into the engine. worth the money, easy to fit. mind and fit the sticker to the airbox lid so your garage knows to leave alone when servicing the car.
  16. i had the wiper issue for the first time last week, also had right indicator flashing and dash light flashing like it was having an epileptic fit - really fast. yet left indicate is ok. i hope its not a sign of more repair costs.
  17. yep 4 keys are required to get the head unit out. i got one of mine stuck while taking mine out, they are razor thin too, like pulling on a cheese slicer.....
  18. i have a K&N on my MK2 1.6 Ghia, highly recommend ESP or Rude Racing as they are known now, get an account and some discount. Here is the linky - http://www.ruderacing.co.uk/Air_Filter_ ... _info.html
  19. should do the job, if your doing your weekly shopping on Tesco, they had Castrol units, which had the Ford logo on them, saves a trip to Halfords.
  20. rear blade with the moulded plastic is normally a dealer part only, even Halfords don't stock them, mine cost me about £10-12, Tezza should be able to sort you out.
  21. you should be able to just remove the rear tyres and paint on a bit of Hammerite. I cheated and got the garage to do it on the last service in March, was very nice and polite and got it done for nothing, LOK in Inverurie are very good like that.
  22. to fit the K&N induction kit, the whole air box gets removed from the PDF of the fitting manual i saw, it's quite a bit of work. Hence i have just stuck with the K&N air filter for now.
  23. was that not the old issue fixed under warranty when the MK2's first come out. I got mine fixed in late 2006, not long after i got my MK2. depends how long ago you bought it, they might fix it for free, i think it was something to do with the wrong lubricant and bushes or something, but there was a Ford notice about it in 2006.
  24. try an avoid the big holes, it's a little bit of a harder/firm ride, but better for it, i also don't get the wobbling i used to with high winds, car very stable and corners better.
  25. yes had a few garages do this, and even Costco do it too, Michelin train them to put the new ones on the back, for more grip in cornering on front wheel drive cars. didn't believe them, until i got it done on my old Escort, what a difference on roundabouts.
