  1. It's probably a copy of the Known issues from here. People will sell anything!
  2. The worst places are the spiral up ramps in multi story car parks. (anyone been to the Harlequin in Watford?) In a queue of slow moving cars on a very steep ramp you are constantly switching from foot brake to clutch/power. It's not abuse but admittedly heavy clutch usage. The smell inside the car is awful and takes days to get rid of!
  3. You also won't get the best sound from it unless a dealer programs it. One of the things programmed is the DSP that is set to match the trim level of your car. The different materials cloth leather etc have different acoustic properties. Ford spent time programming the head unit to get the best sound possible. When you hear one you'll see why the Sony(visteon) MP3 with the uprated speaker sounds bloody good!
  4. Search the forum and use the cluster test mode to do a bulb check. There is definately a glowplug lamp it is the last symbol on the speedometer near the 150 MPH marker. It has to be really cold for the engine to need it.
  5. The britax duo isofix fits a treat. Not the cheapest seat but very secure once in. For the next size up the Britax evolva is fine and a good price too. Nick
  6. slowv6, I used the Britax Duo plus isofix. About £130 http://www.britax.co.uk/ProductDetail.j ... d=7&type=1 Now switched to the Britax evolva (little buggers grow so quickly!) http://www.britax.co.uk/ProductDetail.j ... d=9&type=1 The isofix mounts are very quick & secure. If you find a seat you like with isofix, i would recommend using it. I still have our 2 Duo plus seats if you're interested PM me. Nick
  7. See Known issues and fixes. Cold weather combined with engine start causes clock to reset. Voltage buffer fix available under warranty. The RDS feature has been removed as it isn't reliable. To access time & date settings, disable RDS set first then go back into the clock menu.
  8. Do you have any other transponder keys on the keyring? Maybe they're interfering. Try your spare key too.
  9. The PATS system has it’s own self diagnosis test procedure which flashes codes. The PATS LED will flash quickly for 1 minute, and then start flashing the fault code as follows:- Example : code 31 3 Flashes 1 Flash Three seconds delay Repeat of code for 10 times Code Descriptions :- Code 11 Transceiver not connected Code 12 Transceiver Code 13 No key data received Code 14 Part of the transponder code received Code 15 Wrong transponder key Code 21 Less than the minimum keys required programmed Code 22 Failed diesel pump control unit identification Code 23 The response code between pump contr
  10. Sally, You will be able to get to the isofix points by pushing the fabric out of the way you shouldn't need to cut the seats. At the join between the back of the seat & the base (where the seatbelt catch is) push your fingers in & pull the fabric towards the centre of the seat.
  11. It's bloody hard. You pull an pull then finally it goes bang & the handbrake is released.
  12. It doesn't. I plug a cable from there through a ground loop isolator then into the aux soket in the glovebox. The sound comes from the main speakers then. 5.1 would be a nice addon  By the way the headphones are infra red. Nick
  13. I've been driving various Peugeots around which also have auto locking. This clearly isn't the issue. When a vehicle is safety tested if it has autolocking then the doors must always unlock in the event of an accident otherwise it will fail the test and get a poorer safety rating. One of the computer system used in the C-Max is used in many other Ford vehicles it is called the GEM (Generic Electronic Module I believe) and it looks after most of the systems in the car. Note the use of the word 'Generic'. The computer is used in many different cars. In the C-Max there is a very small
  14. I agree it is a bodge not a fix. The master time keeper is actually the instrument cluster not the radio. The radio simply displays what the cluster tells it to. I'm guessing it's a communication issue between the radio and the cluster that corrupts the clock and it seems that a full fix may need more than a simple software update. More likely a replacement instrument cluster (not a cheap option). Quite rightly FMC have not deemed this worthy of a safety recall, the clock works ok ish without the RDS feature so that is the quickest option. My suggestion would be to disable the RDS autoset
  15. It's a known behaviour and there is no fix. AFAIK all focus models with xenons do it.
  16. My pound is for foot scuffs on the airline seat trays. Little buggers love to kick them. Nick
  17. I don't know about the 6600 i have the aux in socket in the glovebox. However have a read here. http://www.ofcom.org.uk/media/mofaq/rcomms/itrip/ Ofcom are looking to change the law regarding these low power transmitters. I think the worst that would happen in the unlikely event that you were caught using one of these, you would be told to switch it off. By the way they now sell them at Halfords! Nick
  18. You could always turn your head round & look out the window while reversing Just a thought :whistle
  19. I'll have a look on the TIS when i get home. It shows where the box is. Nick
  20. The sensor box is mounted in the boot behind one of the side panels. I think the sounder is mounted behind one of the D pillar trims. It is not linked to the stereo.
  21. No Problem. The only concerning part of this is the EPB has a mind of its own when the battery gets low. This is advised in the owners manual. 'Always leave the car in gear when parked.'
  22. Your battery has gone flat. Mine did this too, when you turn the key all the lights flickered then it released the EPB on its own!!!!!!!!! Get yourself a charger, disconnect the earth lead from the battery and charge it up. All should be fine then. PS leave the car in gear!! Nick
  23. Yes its the same for the Xenons. The headlamp is a bit fiddly to get out though.
