  1. It's been a while since I bought them so my ebay account wouldn't show me the exact item but I had a quick search and I think these are the same. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mudflaps-FORD-Fie ... 58834a42de
  2. I have fitted mud flaps to the front of my Zetec S mainly to try and keep the sills cleaner in wet weather so i dont get dirty trouser bottoms while getting out of the car :D But also to reduce tar spots and stone chips. I couldn't get standard ford flaps because they don't make them to fit around the sill moulding of the zetec S body kit, so I sourced some on ebay which although were fairly inexpensive and plain are made from good quality rubber and have come through this winter looking like new, with no signs of stone chips on my sills after all the terrible road conditions we've had (pot
  3. I'd recommend the genuine ford velour ones. I've had them since I got my first focus in 2005. I got another set in my new car in 2008 and another in my new car in 2009, so I have three sets. They are very easy to clean with the hoover or just a stiff brush and they have a nice silver focus badge on them and fixings to stop them moving about. My oldest set are starting to look a bit tired but the 2008 and 2009 sets are still good as new. And that's with loads of clumsey teenagers, many of which seem to carry a farmers field worth of mud on their shoes getting in and out of my car.
  4. Here's my mk2 which i had the back and rear side windows tinted. And here's my mk2.5 which came with the privacy glass as standard. Sorry the pictures don't show the tint really well but you'll get the idea. I like just the rears done and one thing I noticed after having my mk2 done was how much cooler the car stayed in the summer especially when parked up.
  5. I've seen mine light up when one of my pupils has got the pedals mixed up! :?
  6. I saw some on a mk 2 the other day. To be frank they looked bloody awful and cheap looking, i'd rather keep my standard ones.
  7. I've had mine seven months now and all the buttons still look like new. This might sound daft but do you have particularly clammy hands? I've seen cars in the past where leather steering wheels have been virtually eaten away by drivers who's sweating palms seem very corrosive. Since I've been teaching people to drive i've noticed how some people leave a resedue on the controls when they drive it, even though their hands are clean. And that's after an hour so over the coarse of a few months it could affect painted finishes.
  8. I've been really impressed with my mk 2.5, 2.0tdci through these last three weeks of snow and ice. I haven't had to cancel a single driving lesson due to the weather and we've had it pretty bad in east yorkshire. I've actually tried to make it skid on purpose to try and show pupils what not to do on ice and snow and how to correct it but the car behaved too well. I put it down to the weight of the heavy diesel engine over the front wheels coupled with the wide tyres mine's got on it. I turned the traction control off one day and it didn't make any difference but that's probably because I was
  9. Flog the 1.6 and get yourself a 2.0ltr zetec S like mine, either petrol or diesel. Mine's a diesel and goes like hell even with it's standard engine setup but can be easily remapped to boost the bhp. My insurance went up £150 a year when I swapped my 1.6 zetec mk2 for this. I reckon insurance companies would use a modified car as an excuse to charge higher premiums over a standard car with a larger engine. The diesel is also very economical even when you thrash it a bit.
  10. The removal keys are easy to get hold of but your problem could be getting the button repaired. I took my old 1st generation Sony stereo in to get it repaired because the phone button stopped working and they told me it couldn't be repaired without replacing the whole circuit board behind the front panel which would be very expensive. The Sony stereos seem very fragile considering how expensive they are.
  11. I don't know what they call it but my 2.0 tdci has the six speed gear box.
  12. Well after having a search round on the internet for some mud flaps I decided to buy a pair of these from ebay to see what i could do with them. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2975418025 Because they only cost a tenner with the postage I thought I wouldn't lose much if they ended up being crap. I fitted them yesterday when it was nice and dry, today its raining so i'll see if they keep my sills free of muck while i'm out and about. I'll also post some pictures so anyone else who wants some mud flaps for their ST or Zetec S can see what they look like.
  13. My 2 litre tdci Zetec S is 136bhp. I know they don't come with the standard 1.6 petrol or diesel engines. I suppose that's a good thing cuz they wouldn't really live upto their sporty looks would they.
  14. I've been thinking a twin exhaust would look good on my zetec S. the bumper just lends itself to one. I wouldn't want it loud though cuz firstly it's a diesel and second I use it to teach people to drive so extra noise wouldn't be good. I love my zetec S! :D
  15. You need to get yourself a sony head unit.
  16. Hi all, With the recent bad weather my car is getting filthy and i'm fed up of the sides and back of the car getting covered in dead leaves ans slop, not to mention tar spots. I've been on the lookout for some mud flaps for my Zetec S, the standard ones don't fit because of the side skirts and rear bumper extension and strangley Ford don't make any for the ST or Zetec S. So has anyone got any pictures or ideas about aftermarket mud flaps I could fit to my car? I want something that's good quality and wont make the car look like some pimped up chav mobile. Cheers, Pete.
  17. You've just gotta prise it off with something flat. start under the fog light and get your fingers under it. The pointed shaped bit towards the edge of the bumper is the hardest bit and you just have to pull the surround straight forward away from the car. When you put it back on attatch that bit first and then just press it back on until it all clicks back into place. You have to be a bit brutal getting it off but the plastic is flexible so it shouldn't break.
  18. Hiya craig. Well first of all you need to remove the head light. It's the same as the mk2 just one screw but the light is a little more tricky to remove, pull the unit forward then up and toward the wing of the car. Once the light is out of it's appature you'll see there are three different covers for various bulbs. the one you want is the smallest and it just pulls off. When you look inside you'll see the side light bulb holder is on the end of a long plastic lug. this needs to be twisted a quarter turn to release the holder, I can't remember off hand which way you turn it but just use a pair
  19. Well I've just had a quick look and the metal bit is attached to the rubber bit that just fits over the pedal. I didn't try taking one off but They seem fairly flexible. The foot rest is just fixed to the carpet from what i can see. If you want to see some pictures I'll post some up for you.
  20. I'll have a closer look at mine and see if i can see how They go on. I don't blame you not wanting to drill holes in stuff.
  21. Hiya craig, my zetec S has metal pedals and a foot rest. You might be able to buy them from ford to fit yourself.
  22. I think some times people call the 2001 facelift models mk2. The easiest way to find out is to ask the seller if they have four or five stud holes. Last year when i was in cyprus i saw proper mk2 focii with 15 inch alloy wheels on. So it is possible but they may've come from abroad somewhere.
