Well two positives make a negative so maybe Rocky subconsciously knows the chrome grille looks shocking but is just struggling to come to terms with it ??

Sorry but I don't know how anyone can say chrome looks better. It's been my biggest hate of the mk2 ever since it came out. There's absolutely no chrome on the rest of the car at all, just the front grille, so it looks ridiculous and doesn't go with anything in my opinion! The colour coded one looks fantastic. Always wanted to see what one would look like. So well done for doing it, and ignore the rest of these people saying chrome is better  Oh and sorry for dragging up an old thread but I just found it

I think he means from London  That car looks lovely btw :)

I'd love a go in one of these Ti-VCT's... never driven one or been in one. I have a normal 1.6 mk1 Focus. It does need revving to get anywhere, but it sounds great and shifts reasonably well when you do :D and I still get around 40mpg too. Good compromise I reckon! :D

Fitting Jaguar Wheels to a Mk 2 Focus !!!!!!!!!!!!!
ash/ replied to tdci's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
They look great. Just needs lowering now :D Good choice and original :D -
Sounds like compound polish - check it hasn't had any paintwork done!
-
Absolute bargain if thats true, but I have a feeling you've missed a 0 off the end! I'm sure aquarius isnt available anymore? Thought it'd been stopped a while ago. Hope not though! Good choice on the wheels, yum!

All the ones in the Focus are 110 as far as I know? Only the Fiesta/Fusion has the 90ps one.
-
All cars after 2003 as far as I know MUST have ABS as standard. Your car definately does, anyway ! :)

something variable cam timing

2.0 tdci - does it need ESP (Eelctronic Stability Program) ?
ash/ replied to powellcd's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
I couldn't agree more that it's a good safety feature , and when I drove a mondeo 2.2 tdci and provoked it, wheelspin in 3rd was easily induced, but my point is unless you're driving like a fool, it shouldn't happen, surely? -

Yeah - not denying it is useful in cornering situations, but if you have the front wheels spinning everywhere then I would think it's more of a driver issue than a car issue! -

Ricardo pretty much summed it up perfectly. It's only a diesel Focus , if you can't control the 'power', then I would seriously advise further driving tuition  However obviously they are torquey engines and you may have to adjust your driving style slightly to compensate. -
pics of mk2 LED brake light & new rear lights
ash/ replied to a topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Really like those lights, not seen them before! -
Not a silly question, it might just be a defect with your paintwork. Any chance you could get a few pictures? I doubt you have damaged it washing it, if you have only used the products you said you have. If it's a defect get it back to Ford for a respray!

My 1.6 is the same. Just give it a few more revs when lauching and it seems to be OK.
-
Just to confirm, it IS different from the mk1 focus filter.

Pricey, but sounds like a good step forward in terms of technology. Wonder why they haven't marketed this further, makes you wonder if they're confident of how good it is?? I remember they offered a flexi-fuel model in the run out of the last focus, although wasn't this LPG? Is this different? Did you ask for a 1.8 then, choopa?

BAD ROADHOLDING IN FRONT WHEELS, NORMAL?
ash/ replied to vito's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Just sounds like understeer to me, to be honest It's a big car with a big heavy diesel over the front wheels, it's bound to suffer from this a little bit. Don't think it's torque steer, as you'd only get that when booting it, and if you're doing that in the middle of going round a roundabout then I think it's your driving style that needs a look at, not the car  -
Exactly :D

I imagine cos on privilige you have to keep your car 9 months before you can sell it on! It makes sense to keep getting new ones, as it'll only cost a few quid to change I think.

 Sad but true

Focus is finally arriving! (hopefully)
ash/ replied to kinkyfreebird's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Great spec! Should make it easy to sell on, but I bet it'll lose lots of value quick :( Good choice though :D what colour did you go for? -
Courtesy Car - Whilst mine is in for warranty work

When I worked at Ford they used Fiesta 1.25 LX's... kept them until 12,000 miles / 12 months, whichever came first. Also had a couple of Ka's, although when I left they just took delivery of 8 (yes 8  ) Focus Studio 1.6 TDCi estates! We had nowhere to put them haha - everyone ended up taking one home for the night (except me, they wouldn't let me :( ) Seems a few of you here have been quite lucky :D some unlucky (the no petrol/dirty thing is quite common :D) -
would need the rear bumpstrip colourcoding.. totally ruins the look! otherwise, it looks great!
