must admit i found the wind and tyre noise terrible in my 2.0 tdci in the end got rid of the car,couldnt put up with it any more ,there is obviously a major problem with the design ,otherwise ford wouldnt have spent the money putting double seals on all the doors

i had a titanium 2.0tdci and although the handbook says its supposed to have instant mpg ,none of them do ,think its to do with the fact none of the cars are getting anywhere near what ford claim as mpg ,so they just disabled the feature lol

its gotta be set up on wds at the dealers ,i had 3 in my focus ,kept going wrong ,useless sony rubbish ,and everytime they needed setting up on the computer

the residuals on new focus are truely shocking ,all the hype at launch how theyd hold value best in class ,i sold my 2.0tdci after 11 months for just under 11k now thats a shocking loss for a so called top of the range 18 k motor

well ill keep my fingers crossed for u mate ,maybe theyve started to iron out some of the faults ,they should have by now been building them for long enough now

i make you right mate, wish i could have returned mine and swapped it for something else ,youve made the right choice ,the new focus seems to be a flawed beast ,so many irritating little faults ,rattles ,creaks etc soon as u cure one another appears .like most ppl i think in the end u just give up and live with it as i did until i got shot and lost a fortune ,so yes mate take it back and get something your happy with ,ive yet to find a dealer that genuinely went out of there way to help you ,there all in it for there own means and everything seems too much trouble !!!! good luck keep us inform

choice is yours mate but id get out of it while u can i spent a year trying to get mine sorted out and gave up in the end,if i was u id take it back for a well put together mondeo ,i think there nicer to drive anyway

take it back swap it for a mondeo at least there built properly mine creaked ,rattled and leaked until the day i got rid of the heap !!!!!

glad your enjoying your focus dreaklock ,and rate it so hightly.i thought mine was rubbish and didnt rate it at all.,was a 2.0tdci titanium .thought it was a great engine ,although greedy,but other than that ,thought the drive was very average, wind and tyre noise dreadful,build quality so so think it was a very average car at best ,but each to there own i guess.sold mine after a year and would never but another one

yep sadly another design fault ,with fords new wonder focus lol one of the many reasons i got rid of mine ,got fed up with all the annoying little design faults that were wrong with it

just hold the reset button in when the temprature is showing on the dashboard and u can change it between degrees c and f just by holding in the reset button u dont need to change the whole lot between metric and imperial

if i only lost £1000 a year id be more than happy with that, new focus residuals are particulally bad, mine was a 05 2.0tdci titanium 5 dr ,£18000 in march last year ,part x £10500 so a drop of £7500 in less than a year!!!!!!!

think youll find that was pre launch auto car and the likes were spouting how good the residuals were gonna be on the new focus ,got my * * * * well and truely spanked on a 2.0tdci titanium ,but the mgfv wasnt anything to write home about had i kept it for the full 3 yrs ,was no where near what they were quoting b4 launch .theyve lost so ,much money its frigtening even worse than mondeo and i thought they lost a lot lol

how about trying one of the mobile firms like chipsaway ,they mix up the paint on site to get a goo dcolour match? might not be the cheapest way of doing things buyt at least the job will be done properly?

always think its a false economy buying "cheap" budget tyres ,after all there only thing separating you from the road ,and holding up all that metal are the 4 bits of rubber ,so always think its worthwhile spending that bit extra for decent quality tyres ,from what ive seen and heard ,the cheap ones ,never last or perform as well as premium barands avoid at all costs pirelli p7s had them on my 2.0tdci focus no grip at all on anything other than bone dry roads ,conti sports on my st170 were excellent though highly reccomend

if you know of a dealer that will sell cars at priv prices to those without a voucher ,you had better tell us who they are,im sure there will be a big queue at there door in the morning

dont need to hold the button down .just lock the car as uaual wait a couple of mins then open the bonnet .... no sore finger

focus residuals are rubbish

think yourself lucky m8 i was unfortunate enough to get pirelli p7s on mine ,harder than steel and no grip at all even if its slightly damp.all the other focus that were being delivered the same day as mine were shod with continental conti sports ..... much better .think the car might handle ok with some decent rubber but with these ....forget it

there is no instant readout,even though the handbook says there should be

if hes has, and he gets caught by ford hell have to pay back all the money he saved over list price.if u buy a car on priv you have to keep it 9 months otherwise repay all the savings you made

too many design faults ,,water pouring into the boot when u open the hatch ,wind and tyre noise,and the rubbish electric steering .im not impressed at all,apart from the engine which is great,although its much greadier than ford reckon .suggest u go for a very long test drive or even borrow one for the weekend if you can find a willing dealer mate

there is no miracle cure .the 2.0 tdci is a great engine ,but sadly doesnt do any where near what its supposed to do mpg wise .plenty focus and cmax owners very unhappy about that.if you are very light footed and drive like an old lady u can get half decent economy ,but that defeats the object of having all that poke
